📍 | Mid-Levels Escalator Information
The Mid-Levels Escalator is the world's longest outdoor escalator system, spanning a length of approximately 800m, with multiple escalators and movable ramps connected. It starts from Central, passes through SoHo, and ends at Mid-Levels. During rush hour (06:00-10:00), it only runs downwards (towards Central), and then upwards (towards Mid-Levels).
🗣 | Experience of the Mid-Levels Escalator
At first, I thought it was just a simple means of transportation, but when I actually rode it, it was an interesting experience that allowed me to see the various aspects of Hong Kong at a glance~😀 As I went up the escalator, I could feel the atmosphere gradually changing as I passed the forest of buildings in Central!!
In particular, when I entered the SoHo area, I was struck by the stylish cafes and restaurants and unique murals. It was impressive to see foreign tourists and locals mingling, and it felt like I was walking down a European street. I could get off every now and then to look around the alleys and get back on the escalator, so I could look around more freely.
I kept going up until I could see the end, and the road was quite long, so I wondered, "When will it end?", but as I went up, new scenery unfolded, so I didn't have time to get bored.😆 It was a special time to be able to experience the various aspects of the city while moving conveniently in Hong Kong, which has many hills. If you visit Hong Kong, I recommend you ride it at least once! 🫠
