Cavenagh Bridge
Cavenagh Bridge is a historic suspension bridge located in Singapore's Civic District. While smaller than its neighboring Anderson Bridge, it is no less impressive in terms of its historical significance and beauty. Constructed in 1869, the bridge features a simple design with wire cables and steel structures. During our visit to Singapore in April, my wife, son, and I had the opportunity to see Cavenagh Bridge up close and were impressed by its unique design and the views it offered of the city. Whether crossing the bridge by foot or simply admiring it from afar, it is definitely worth a visit for anyone interested in Singapore's rich history and architecture. Highly recommended!

Named after Major General William Orfeur Cavenagh, the last Governor of the Straits Settlements, it was completed in 1869.
This elegant suspension bridge is a beautiful fusion of functional design & architectural charm. Cavenagh Bridge showcases a blend of Victorian architectural style with a touch of colonial influence.

Address: 1 Fullerton Square, Singapore 049178
Nearest MRT: Raffles Place MRT Exit H
Not to be missed by the staycationers, office workers, cyclists, joggers and walkers at Raffles Place. From the website: Cavenagh Bridge is the only suspension bridge and one of the oldest bridges in Singapore, spanning the lower reaches of the Singapore River in the Downtown area. Most people will have to pass by this suspension bridge to get to the other side. If you are coming from The Fullerton Hotel and wish to get to the Asians Civilisation Museum, then you use this bridge.
Stand at the bridge and admire Fullerton Hotel and all the skyscrapers from Cavenagh bridge. I will suggest that you come in the day and in the night. At night, the Cavenagh bridge will be lit up and give a different feel again. There are plenty of write-ups along the bridge, so spend some time here and enjoy the entire Fullerton district.

The park is very large and fun. There is an ice cream shop with thick tawr bread and there are a few drink vendors in little huts. It is a nice walk under the trees. Enjoy the nature and the flowers. Check out the new buildings, like the Merlion and the Sky Bridge, but also take the time to wander around and see the old Parliament and government buildings. Plus some historical buildings! You can see the Anderson Bridge and back over the Cavenaugh Bridge. Cool! Very clean!
