walking | Detailed Guide to Hiking in Cape D'Aguilar with Check-in Spots
Hello everyone! Today, I'm going to introduce a super detailed hiking guide to Cape D'Aguilar, located at the southern tip of the Cape D'Aguilar Peninsula in the Southern District of Hong Kong Island, between Stanley and Shek O, which is a coastal conservation area. Along the way, there are stores and restrooms, mainly cement paths, and the difficulty is low, making it very suitable for beginners or those accompanying children. Once you enter the Cape D'Aguilar Coastal Conservation Area, you can get a close view of the Thunder Cave, Whale Bone, and Crab Cave. 😍🏞
🔜Cape D'Aguilar Route
Cape D'Aguilar Road (about 3 kilometers long) > Cape D'Aguilar Village > Radio Transmission Station > Cape D'Aguilar Lighthouse > Thunder Cave > Whale Bone > Crab Cave > Rocky Beach
🚌Transportation to Cape D'Aguilar
Take bus number 9 from Shau Kei Wan MTR station A3 exit, and get off at Cape D'Aguilar Station. 🚍🚶♂
🚶♀Difficulty: 🌟
🚶Time Required: About 3 hours round trip ⌛
📸Check-in Spots:
❗Along Cape D'Aguilar Road, you can have a distant view of the opposite Stanley Peninsula, which is very beautiful when the weather is good;
❗Cape D'Aguilar Lighthouse: The lighthouse, completed in 1875, is one of the oldest existing lighthouses in Hong Kong and has great historical value. It is also very photogenic;
❗Thunder Cave: There is a huge crack inside the Thunder Cave, and every time the waves hit the cave walls, a loud noise is emitted;
❗Whale Bone: It belongs to a baleen whale that was stranded in Victoria Harbour in 1955, about 10 meters long. Remember to look but don't touch when viewing;
❗Crab Cave: The waves carve out the rocks daily, forming this crab-shaped cave entrance.
⚠Attention⚠
▪It's pitch black inside the Thunder Cave, and there are loads of mosquitoes 🦟! Remember to bring proper protective gear!
▫When you come to the coastal conservation area, please follow its rules and take care of the environment, and take your trash with you! 🚮💚
