#2024Travel Review
St. Gallen, a small town in northeastern Switzerland, is famous for its monastery library. However, my journey this time was not focused on tracing history, but on experiencing the more lively side of this city, feeling its modern vitality and natural beauty hidden under its ancient appearance, as well as the surprises and touches it brought me.
The moment you arrive in St. Gallen, you will be attracted by its unique atmosphere. Compared with other Swiss cities, St. Gallen seems more quiet and peaceful. The air is filled with a faint scent of books, making people feel particularly comfortable and at ease. I stayed in a hotel with a modern design. The room was simple and bright. Outside the window was the street view of St. Gallen city, which made me eager to start exploring the city.
The next day, I started walking through the city center of St. Gallen. The architectural style here is simple and elegant, yet modern. Ancient buildings and modern facilities are cleverly integrated together to form a unique urban landscape. I walked through the streets and alleys and found many unique cafes, bookstores and handicraft shops, all of which showed the unique urban personality of St. Gallen.
In the city center, I found a bakery that a local recommended. The dazzling array of bread varieties dazzled me. I picked out a few that looked particularly tempting. Every bite was soft and delicious, and the wheat aroma of the bread lingered in my mouth for a long time, leaving me with an endless aftertaste. The owner of the bakery is a warm and friendly lady boss. She took the initiative to talk to me, introduced me to the flavor characteristics of different breads, and recommended some drinks that go well with bread. Her enthusiasm and professionalism made me feel the warmth and humanity of St. Gallen.
In the morning, I decided to go to the market square in St. Gallen. This is the heart of St. Gallen and an important place for local people to live. The square is bustling with people coming and going, and various stalls are filled with a wide variety of goods, ranging from fresh agricultural products to exquisite handicrafts. I strolled in the square, admiring the scenery along the way and feeling the vitality and enthusiasm of this city.
In the afternoon, I chose to go hiking in the mountains near St. Gallen. St. Gallen is surrounded by beautiful mountains and is a great place for hiking. I chose a scenic hiking route, enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery and forests along the way and feeling the wonders of nature. During the hike, I also discovered some hidden little attractions, such as a viewing platform with a great view, which offers a panoramic view of the city of St. Gallen and the surrounding mountains.
In the evening, I enjoyed dinner at a restaurant with a mountain view. I ordered a local Swiss dish with fresh ingredients and delicious sauce, which was very delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very relaxed. I chatted about St. Gallen with the tourists at the next table, and they enthusiastically shared with me many interesting stories about the city.
In the evening, I strolled through the streets of St. Gallen, feeling the tranquility and peace of the city. St. Gallen at night is brightly lit, but without the hustle and bustle of the city, making people feel particularly comfortable and at ease. I found that the city night has its own unique flavor. It is less noisy than during the day and more peaceful and mysterious. I sat on a bench in the park, looking at the starry sky, feeling the tranquility and comfort.
On my last day in St. Gallen, I decided to visit the art museum in St. Gallen. There are many works of Swiss artists collected here, showing the unique artistic atmosphere of St. Gallen. I strolled in the art gallery, admired the artists' works, and felt the charm of art.
When I left St. Gallen, I was filled with emotion. This small town full of the scent of books has brought me many unexpected surprises and touches. It made me realize that the meaning of travel is not to visit many places of interest, but to experience local life, feel the tranquility and peace of the city, and enjoy a moment of leisure and comfort. St. Gallen, this small town full of books and mountains, will always be engraved in my memory and become one of the best memories in my life. The soft and delicious bread, the warm and friendly people, and the beautiful mountain scenery and forests made this journey so unforgettable and precious. St. Gallen is a small town worth savoring, a quiet city full of surprises and touching moments. I look forward to coming to this beautiful place again and feeling the tranquility and peace, as well as its unique scent of books.
