During the Ming Dynasty, General Liu Ting was besieged at Bingshan and chose to die rather than surrender. To commemorate this hero, people renamed Wuyun Mountain to Bingshan (Soldier Mountain). Later, due to its towering height and the fact that the peak is covered with snow all year round, it was further renamed Bingshan (Ice Mountain), a name that has been passed down to this day. On the north side of the mountain, there is still a platform where Liu Ting trained his soldiers. Along the northern edge of the mountain, there is a stone trough with spring water flowing out, which is said to have been inexhaustible even for Liu Ting's thousands of troops. At the southern end of the main peak, there is a chessboard platform built on a red stone with white patterns, about fifteen square meters in size.
