🌸🏮 Hoi An – Boats & Lanterns 🏮🌸
Hoi An at night is pure magic. Colorful lanterns light up the ancient streets and river, creating a dreamy glow. I took a small boat ride, released a lantern onto the water, and watched the reflections dance around me. ✨ It’s peaceful, romantic, and one of those unforgettable Vietnam moments you can’t miss. 🇻🇳💛
FYI queues look long and busy but move very quickly

Here is a review of Hoi An in about 300 words:
⸻
Hoi An is one of the most famous and unique tourist destinations in Vietnam. Located on the banks of the Thu Bon River, Hoi An ancient town was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage since 1999, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. The most prominent feature of Hoi An is the ancient beauty of wooden houses, moss-covered tiled roofs, and a system of colorful lanterns every time the street lights up. The atmosphere here is both peaceful and historical, making visitors feel like they are going back in time to a bustling trading port in the 16th - 17th centuries.
In addition to architecture, Hoi An is also famous for its rich cuisine. Dishes such as Cao Lau, Quang noodles, Banh Bao - Banh Vac or Corn Sweet Soup all have unforgettable, unique flavors. In particular, the experience of sitting on a boat releasing flower lanterns on the Thu Bon River in the evening always leaves a deep impression on visitors.
Not only that, the friendly and hospitable people of Hoi An also contribute to the special attraction of this land. Traditional craft villages such as lantern making, Kim Bong carpentry or Thanh Ha pottery also bring many interesting experiences.
In short, Hoi An is not only a place to preserve cultural and historical values, but also an ideal stopover to enjoy the peace, warmth and rich Vietnamese identity.

Colorful Lanterns, Ancient Walls—Hoi An’s Timeless Charm 🎏🌅
Hoi An’s Old Town comes alive as dusk falls—lanterns glowing, riverboats drifting, and centuries-old streets inviting you to wander. Start your evening at Duc An House (129 Trần Phú, 8:00–21:00), savoring its vintage architecture and bookish vibe (perfect for quiet photos of wooden carvings and sunlight streaming through antique windows). Next, stroll towards Quan Cong Temple (24 Trần Phú) for bold reds and statement dragons—make sure to snap the ornately decorated altar for that “iconic Hoi An” shot.
When the sky shifts to purple and gold, continue to the riverside for a magical night boat ride among floating lanterns. This is pure Hoi An magic! For a sunset memory, perch on the edge of the river—capture golden reflections and multi-colored lights flickering on the water (the ultimate insta-worthy moment!). Then dive into Hội An Night Market (Nguyễn Hoàng, 18:00–22:00) for street eats, vibrant lanterns, and the best souvenir shopping. Try crispy Banh Mi or fresh spring rolls as you explore.
Don’t miss Bài Chòi Hội An (Old Town, 19:00–21:00) where live folk singing adds extra sparkle to your stroll. If curious about local spirituality, pass by Hội Thánh Tin Lành Việt Nam (114 Đ. Phan Chu Trinh) for quiet photo ops or a reflective moment.
Tips: First-time visitors—going after sunset adds extra magic! Wear comfy shoes for cobblestone lanes, keep cash for market nibbles, and bring a light jacket (evenings can be breezy by the river). Watch your step boarding those lantern boats.

Bài Chòi (sometimes spelled Bai Choi) — a traditional form of community entertainment deeply rooted in Central Vietnam, particularly around Hội An and Quảng Nam Province. More than just a performance, it's a lively cultural practice combining card games, folk singing, poetry, theater, and social connection.
What Is Bài Chòi?
Originating between the 16th and 17th centuries, Bài Chòi evolved from guard-house routines in rural villages, where watchers would sing and exchange verses to pass time. Over generations it became a structured folk art combining.

Hoi An, Vietnam
I was so impressed when I went there for the first time that I went back after the coronavirus pandemic.
The entire town is a World Heritage Site, so the atmosphere and laid-back feeling are the best.
The food is delicious, and the hotels are always nice, so I'm very satisfied.
You can explore on foot, or rent a bicycle to go further afield.
Hoi An at night is also very impressive, with the floating lanterns, the illuminated shops, and the lanterns, all of which are so beautiful that they're sure to look great on film.
If possible, it's a great place to spend two nights relaxing.

Have fun on a boat in Hoi An
#May Travel Grant Hoi An, a city located near Da Nang, Vietnam, is a place where you can rent a boat and go sightseeing on the river. Many tourists ride a boat here and go around the river in Hoi An, floating lanterns with wishes written on them and having a good time.

🏖️Environment/Facilities: We went in April, the weather was still good, the wind was cool, walking in the beautiful market was not hot. 💞Reason for recommendation: Beautiful and another place worth visiting in Da Nang.

Hoi An Ancient Town
The whole ancient town has a great atmosphere, but because of this there are many tourists, which causes the quality of tourism to decline slightly.
However, it is still worth a visit.

Travel to Da Nang, Vietnam 🇻🇳
I went to Da Nang, Vietnam in January.
January was the dry season, and the temperature was around 20℃, so it was a very comfortable climate.
Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city in Vietnam, but Da Nang also has many attractive spots, so I recommend it as you can fully enjoy it in about 2 days! Of course, the cost of living is also low, so even students can enjoy it👍
Da Nang, located in central Vietnam, is a resort area where beautiful beaches and modern cities are fused together. My Khe Beach is counted as one of the "world's most beautiful beaches" and you can spend a relaxing time there. There are also many historical tourist spots such as the Marble Mountains and Da Nang Cathedral.
1. Sun World Ba Na Hills
Ba Na Hills, located on the outskirts of Da Nang, is a theme park that recreates a French castle. You can enjoy a spectacular view from the world's longest ropeway, and the "Golden Bridge", which is a hot topic on SNS, makes you feel like you are walking in the air. It is full of attractions that can be enjoyed by children and adults.
Going early in the morning is good for avoiding the crowds, but it is often foggy, so the best time to take photos is after noon.
2. Hoi An Old Town
Hoi An is a historic town that flourished as a trading port in the 16th century. The streets lined with old yellow buildings are registered as a World Heritage Site, and at night, lit by lanterns, the town is enveloped in a fantastic atmosphere. You can also enjoy custom-made clothing and general goods stores, as well as delicious Vietnamese cuisine.
Sakura, a restaurant run by a Japanese owner, has a great view from the terrace. I went on a weekday around 5pm and was able to sit in the best seat without a reservation.

Hoi an is only 40 minutes drive from Da Nang. The city is very pretty especially at night, as all the colourful lanterns were all lit up. We also took a boat, it was very romantic.

Bài Chòi Hội An... A park and performance museum..。
The Bài Chòi location in Hội An is popular not only for performances but also as a park where you can relax during the day. It's a place where you can enjoy traditional games and folk art, as well as take leisurely walks or photos. The park is beautifully decorated, making it perfect for taking stunning photos under the sunlight and relaxing in a tranquil atmosphere.
You can sit comfortably in shaded areas with cozy chairs, enjoying the beautiful surroundings. It's recommended as a place to visit during the day for some healing time, even when there are no art performances.

Hoi An, Da Nang, Vietnam, late August
Hoi An is a seaside city located in central Vietnam, about an hour's drive from Da Nang city.
It was a little more humid than the city.
The riverside is lined with cafes, souvenir shops, restaurants, and other shops, which are fun to look at.
You can buy lanterns and ride a boat on the spot without having to make a reservation in advance.
The colorful lanterns were very beautiful and it was a wonderful space.
