Udon Thani, a lovely and livable city
#VisitingSecondaryCitiesWithAmazingCityFeelings If you've just visited Laos and stopped in Udon Thani, only have half a day and want something relaxing and not too tiring, try following this trip! We took the bus from Vientiane to the bus terminal in the city center, checked into a nearby hotel, and then went for a walk. Enjoy the cool breeze and stop to take photos of the murals along the walkway between the Udon Thani City Museum and Nong Prajak Silpakhom. It's so beautiful, it's like a gallery on the sidewalk! It's a perfect place to stroll, relax, and admire the city, with beautiful photos from every angle.
And we can't forget Nong Prajak. It's the ultimate chill spot! It's like a paradise in the middle of the city, with a large, crystal-clear pond and cute ducks floating in the water. The air is so perfect you'll want to stay there all day. Many locals come here for jogging, and bicycles are available for rent to ride around. Watching the locals work out at their leisurely pace is truly enviable. Honestly, if there was a place like this near my house, I'd be cycling every day.
Then we made a quick stop at Beyond Cafe, a great cafe near the vocational college. This cafe offers both a sense of place and a taste that's doubled. A must-try is the matcha cheesecake, which is smooth and creamy. Paired with iced coffee, it's a perfect match! Cafe lovers, don't miss this!
End your trip by paying respects at the City Pillar Shrine, then continue on to the Pu Ya Shrine. Udon Thani locals believe that visiting here will bring good fortune and prosperity. Afterwards, you can stop by several other dessert shops in the area. However, if you run out of time, you'll have to get back in the car. Half a day is enough to experience culture, nature, cafes, and happiness without too much walking!
In short, if you only have half a day in Udon Thani, don't worry! There's plenty to do! Everyone can relax and unhurriedly relax. Just stroll around, take photos, eat cake, and smile at the adorable ducks. That's it! #UdonThani #MustVisitCafe #NongPrajak
