It has now been transformed into a high-end hotel and art center. Perfectly located next to the wharf, it's the perfect choice for a weekend getaway in Hobart, with easy access to the ferry to MONA and many restaurants. This hotel is very unique. There are many artworks to appreciate. It also has its own art gallery, and guests can take part in customized historical art tours. We had a room with a stunning sea view and the bed was huge and super comfortable. Very quiet, which exceeded our expectations. There were iPads to control the room facilities and a modern stunning bathroom!

There are dairy products, fruits and vegetables, a small amount of cured meat products, and baked bread and cookies. There is also an area selling breakfast in the middle, and the food is good. Yogurt and cheese are especially good! He also has snack stalls serving Asian and Australian cuisine, which adds a bit of variety to the experience. It’s a cozy market, perfect for wandering around the city. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Hobart on Sunday!

The Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery was fun too. We went there after the Salamanca Markets. We got to see a variety of things from beautiful painted portraits to learning about the expeditions to Antartctica! Cuddly and I are from the Arctic, which is literally on the other side, but we wouldn't mind seeing Antarctica one day. I mean, it looks identical to home, just different residents!🐧 There was also a meditation room that mummy took a photo of, which had colourful screens of stars and galaxies. That and background music combined is like something out of the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. Beautiful visual with strange music. We touched some ice that was brought in directly from Antarctica, and boy was it cold! Just how we like it! We had a chat with a lovely little girl while there, who is very smart with a vivid imagination. Imagination is always a good thing to have especially in museums.
