Beiling Park (also known as Qing Zhaoling Mausoleum) is located in Huanggu District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, China. It is the mausoleum of the second founding emperor of the Qing Dynasty, Huang Taiji, and his empress, Xiao Duanwen. It is also one of the relatively complete ancient imperial mausoleum complexes in China. As the largest and best-preserved of the "Three Mausoleums Outside the Great Wall" (the other two are Fuling Mausoleum and Yongling Mausoleum), Beiling Park integrates historical and cultural heritage with urban leisure functions. It is now a world cultural heritage (expansion project of the royal mausoleums of the Ming and Qing Dynasties) and a national AAAA-level tourist Attraction. The construction of the Zhaoling Mausoleum of the Qing Dynasty began in 1643 (the eighth year of Chongde) and was basically completed in the eighth year of Shunzhi (1651). It was expanded many times during the reigns of Kangxi and Qianlong. It is a model of the integration of the royal mausoleum regulations of the Qing Dynasty and the Manchu and Han cultures. The mausoleum complex includes the Zhenghong Gate, the stele pavilion, the Longen Hall, the square city, the crescent city and the Baoding (underground palace), etc., with a rigorous layout and exquisite carvings, showing the grandeur of the mausoleum architecture of the early Qing Dynasty. There are towering ancient pines in the park, with more than 2,000 ancient pines existing, with a tree age of more than 300 years, forming a unique "ancient pine group" landscape. The south side is a modern park area with lakes, flowers, and tree-lined trails. The scenery varies in each season: cherry blossoms in spring, green shade in summer, golden ginkgo in autumn, and quiet snow in winter.
