[2024 Baoshan Stay] Travel Guide for Beaton Coffee Industrial Culture park (Updated Nov)
Travel | Baoshan | Vacation at a coffee estate.
| Baoshan | Vacation at a coffee estate. Last year, I wanted to stop by Baoshan for a day on my way to Tengchong, but I didn't have time. This year, I wanted to spend a few days in a small city, so I chose Baoshan and booked a stay at the Biton Coffee Estate in Lijiangba.
On the first day, we stayed in Baoshan City so we could explore the next day.
Jiayue Lanting Hotel
I had a great experience at this hotel! It was less than CNY 200 per night, and the hotel environment was great. Each floor has a public space with a different theme (similar to the student apartments I lived in when I studied abroad).
The location is a bit remote, but it's not far from the city center (though there's not much to see in the city center).
Biton Coffee Estate
The main purpose of this trip was to stay at the Biton Coffee Estate. I wanted to stay there last year, but I had to cancel my reservation.
The estate is located in Lijiangba, which is a bit far from Baoshan. It's not very convenient if you don't have a car, but it's no problem if you do.
Since I was traveling with my family, I booked two rooms. One was the "Geisha" room, which I loved! It has a private courtyard where you can sit and drink coffee during the day. The other was the "Tashin King Room," which I also loved! It has balconies in the front and back, one large and one small, which is perfect for a vacation! There are also many plants around, which gives it a Southeast Asian feel. The temperature in Lijiangba is relatively high, so it's not cold in winter. I could even wear a short skirt.
There isn't much to do in Baoshan. On the second morning, we went to Wofosi Temple to see the "sunflower seed-eating fish," but they weren't eating sunflower seeds that day. Maybe they were too full.
At noon, we went to Qinglong Street (Banqiao Ancient Town), but there wasn't much to see. We just walked around.
Menghe Town
This is also in Lijiangba. The Menghe Hotel is nice, and it's a resort area. However, if you're not staying there, there's no need to visit. If you are staying there, you can enjoy the resort atmosphere (if you're not staying there but want to visit, you can go after 6:00 pm for free).
Food
I recommend a snack shop called Mian Cang Tea House. The faluda and Thai fried rice are delicious.
Transportation
I recommend driving. It's a bit inconvenient if you don't have a car, so I suggest renting one if you're coming from out of town.
