Bay of Kotor 🧊
#travellerswonderland
Cruising through the Bay of Kotor was an unforgettable experience! This stunning fjord-like bay in Montenegro is surrounded by towering mountains and charming medieval towns. The boat ride cost around €25 per person, and it was worth every cent. We stopped by the beautiful town of Perast, where we visited the island church, Our Lady of the Rocks (€5 entrance fee), and admired the views of the bay.
As the boat glided through the crystal-clear waters, I couldn’t stop taking photos—the scenery was just too beautiful. The highlight was entering Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its ancient city walls and cobbled streets. I highly recommend walking up to the Kotor Fortress for panoramic views, though it’s quite a climb! The peaceful atmosphere of the bay and the mix of history and nature make this a must-visit spot.

Kotor Fjord
A fjord is a geographical concept, referring to a special landform formed by seawater flooding into a canyon.
Kotor Fjord is located in the southwest of Montenegro on the Adriatic Sea and is one of the most beautiful fjords in the world. The Kotor Fjord is interwoven by four bays surrounded by two land masses, forming a deep fjord shaped like a butterfly. The narrowest part is only 340 meters, with towering peaks on both sides reaching up to 1500 meters, and a length of 32 kilometers. The bay is composed of several small bays connected by narrow passages, making it a natural sheltered harbor and one of the best natural ports in Europe. At the same time, it is also the most beautiful fjord in Southern Europe and a highly attractive tourist resort in Montenegro.
The natural scenery of Kotor Fjord is clear and bright, surrounded by mountains, with deep and blue seawater that can accommodate large cruise ships. Enjoying the fjord scenery from a boat is ever-changing and full of charm!

A Jewel on the coast of montenegro
#myhiddengems
Compared to my previous holiday in Kotor more than a decade ago. The tourist numbers have really gone up. But that can be said about most of montenegro in the last couple of years. Having said so, Kotor was still the stunning little town with gorgeous views that I can recollect.
It has a rich culture and heritage. The town has been part of the scene since the middle ages. This 2000 year old town is also unesco heritage. The Bay of Kotor is rich in hidden beaches, while some of the most beautiful ones are even walking distance from the old town. Famous beaches are: Bajova Kula, Orahovac, Risan, Perast and the main beach of Kotor, which starts from the center of Kotor.
A day trip to the village of Njeguši, ancient Cetinje, together with Lovćen and Skadar National Park is an ideal way to enhance your overall understanding of Montenegro history. The combination of natural beauty, rich history, and friendly locals made Kotor an extraordinary destination. It's a place where every corner has a story and every view is a postcard. I can't wait to return and explore more of this captivating coastal gem.

Bay of Kotor
The Bay of Kotor, also known as Boka Kotorska, is one of the most stunning and well-preserved natural areas in Montenegro, located in the southwestern part of the country along the Adriatic Sea.The Bay of Kotor is often mistaken for a fjord due to its dramatic cliffs and deep waters, but it is actually a ria, a submerged river canyon. The bay is surrounded by steep mountains and has numerous small, picturesque towns and villages along its coastline. The waters are crystal clear, making it a popular spot for sailing and other water activities.

Montenegro self-driving tour Raiders, small and beautiful Eastern European countries
In fact, before this year, I have not heard of this country, talking about Montenegro, may only think of Montenegro old demon. Maybe many people will feel strange, but if I say another word, there may be more people: Yugoslavia.
Montenegro was selected for "Lonely Planet" "2016 Best Travel Destinations" list, with beautiful scenery, rich cultural history and full stories.
Montenegro recommended travel destination:
1Perast
Perast is a small town with mountains and seas. Although the town is small, it has a small taste. Along the coastline, there is a road about a few kilometers long, and the houses in the town are built on the mountain.
Perast has two unique islands, and there is a nice name called "Huxin Double Island". A small town within a 20-minute walk, with houses, churches, hotels and restaurants dotted around, is a unique presence in the Bay of Kotor.
2Kotor
Kotor is one of the business cards of Montenegro. Someone commented on Kotor: "If you can only go to an ancient city in Montenegro, you must definitely be it."
Kotor is located deep in the entire Bay of Kotor, quietly nestled in the steep towering Luofu At the foot of Qinshan Mountain, there is a quiet and waveless bay in front. Kotor was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1979 and is one of the 30 most visited ancient cities in Europe.
3Sveti Stefan Island
Sveti Stefan is a beautiful island on the Adriatic Sea, connected to the mainland, like a pearl on the sea.
It has been recommended by countless travel magazines and has been on Lonely Planet. Many travellers will bring a drone to this place.
The sea here is blue and beautiful, the sea is clean and clear, the colors are fascinating, the sun shines on the sea, and it flashes like a diamond in the ocean.
4The Galata River Bridge
Tara River Bridge was built between 1937 and 1940, across the Tara Canyon, in the Durmitor National Park. The former Yugoslavia film "Bridge" was in China. Its all the rage, its the story of Bridge.
"Ah, Friends" has become a memory of a generation.
5Dumitor National Park
Here you can see Europe's deepest canyons, New Zealand-like lakes and stars, Alpine ski resorts, Swiss-style towns...
We drove to the depths of Durmitor Park, where the ticket is 3 Euros per person and the parking fee is 2 Euros. The main attraction in
is Black Lake. The Black Lake is located at the foot of the Medjed Mountain. It consists of two smaller lakes. Walk along the lake and feel the tranquility of Durmitor.
Practical strategy:
1 time difference: 6 hours slower than domestic.
2 Currency and exchange rate: Euro EUR, 1 RMB = 0.127 EUR
3 calling card: I bought it locally and can solve it in TB.
4 Visa: If you have a US visa, you can get a visa-free entry. If you don't have one, you need to apply for an invitation through a designated travel agency.

The perast, 12 km from Kotor, is a place where many Kotor travellers will go to check-in because there are two special islands on the island.
Just arrived here, a local person in charge of pulling business came over and asked if someone had asked Do u need boat to island?
One of the two islands is the island of Kodak, called the island of the Virgin, and needs to take a boat to collect us 10 euros. The other island, called St. George Island, is already a private estate and visitors cannot go to the island.
The town is not big. The main street is a road along the lake. There are restaurants, hotels, shops and churches on both sides of the road. There is a tall clock tower in the town centre, which is also the landmark of the town.

Overlooking the Bay of Kotor is like a God's perspective, it is extremely shocking. The green bay and the red roof reflect each other, exuding the beauty of Kotor, and the Bay of Kotor is very calm.
The distance from the city wall is like a line of "zhi", and the flag waving on this side is the above point, against the bay of Kotor.
From the back of the old city, climb along the city wall to the top of the mountain, overlooking the Bay of Kotor, about an hour on foot, the overall difficulty is very low.
