As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, parents of little ones are planning where to take their kids for a trip. In Fangshan District, southwest of Beijing, these scenic spots are worth parents' attention. 1. Bai Rui Valley for Courage Training Located on the eastern slope of Baihua Mountain in the Taihang Mountains, Bai Rui Valley is a place to see high mountains and temper children's willpower. Taking a shuttle bus up the mountain, the winding mountain road is thrilling like a roller coaster. After getting off at the Tianma Grassland platform, head straight to Glass Stone Island. There is a high-altitude swing at the top of the mountain for those seeking excitement. From the top, you can see the old coal mine site and enjoy the canyon scenery. On the way down, you can take the jungle slide to the Jurassic Forest, an artificial dinosaur cluster that moves and makes sounds. After visiting, head west to the glass walkway, cross the Floating Cloud Bridge, pass Baihua Spring, and reach the small zoo. The entire trip takes about 3-4 hours. Here, children can see the beautiful mountain scenery, listen to mythical stories, try swinging on cliffs, slide down forest trails, and experience the thrill of walking on a glass walkway. Le Valley Silver Beach for Mountain Sliding and Aerial Walking Located in Sandu, Fangshan, Le Valley Silver Beach features mountain rafting and water play. With the temperature dropping during the Mid-Autumn Festival, water activities are not suitable, but you can take your kids to experience the Taihang Flying Car mountain slide (non-powered small slide), walk on the glass walkway and glass suspension bridge on the cliffs. This project is relatively safe, with a dedicated track and flexible speed control. The Qingtian Glass Suspension Bridge is near the starting point of the Taihang Flying Car. You can walk the suspension bridge first, then take the flying car down the mountain. The Qingyun Glass Walkway can be accessed from Le Valley Town or after descending, take a cable car from the Big Eagle starting point (near Jinchan Cave) up the mountain, walk the glass walkway, and return. Youlan Mountain Happy Forest with Non-Powered Amusement Facilities Youlan Mountain Happy Forest is a newly established parent-child park specifically for kids. The scenic area is located in Huangshandian Village, Zhoukoudian Town. The park has various science and expansion projects such as the Plant Herb Garden, Archimedes Water Engineering, Waterwheel Culture, and Jungle Adventure. The cute pet park on the hillside houses gentle animals like alpacas, piglets, white horses, and roosters. Compared to the previous two scenic spots, this place is more suitable for kids to play. 4. Niukouyu Wetland Park for Close Contact with Birds Niukouyu Wetland Park is located about 2 kilometers southwest of Fangshan Chengguan Street. It was originally a reservoir and has now become a free park for nearby residents to exercise, relax, and maintain health. The park is lush with plants, and rare birds like swans, mandarin ducks, sparrowhawks, kestrels, and rare birds like black-crowned night herons, purple-backed bitterns, and kingfishers often visit. It took us 2 hours to drive from Haidian, and during the trip, we met a family who drove from Fangshan, which also took 1 hour. The main reason is that the mountain road is winding and cannot be driven fast. Last year's flood damaged the roads in Fangshan, but they have been repaired now. The car is parked in the parking lot at the foot of the mountain, and it costs 30 yuan per person to take the shuttle bus up the mountain. Along the way, we saw that the roads in the scenic area were still being repaired, and the scenic area also needed renovation due to the flood. Getting off the bus, you are already on the mountain. Overall, it is not tiring, as you are basically walking on the mountain with not much elevation gain. It is very friendly for the elderly and children, as it is mostly steps or gentle slopes. At the top of the mountain, there is a high-altitude swing. The price is as shown in the picture, and it feels quite high and thrilling. Moving forward, there is a glass platform that is great for taking photos. Continuing along the path, there is a high-altitude zipline, which we did not try. Further along, there is a jungle slide for 30 yuan per person. You wear pants, shoe covers, and gloves, and control your own speed. It takes about 3-4 minutes to slide down, and you will arrive at the entrance of the Jurassic Forest. The Jurassic Forest is considered a special area of Bairui Valley, with more than 20 animal models of various sizes. Besides dinosaurs, there are tigers, spiders, snakes, and crocodiles, some with sound effects. Children love it and it feels very realistic. There are also dinosaurs you can ride for photos. The overall experience is walking in the forest, which is quite cool. After exiting the Jurassic Forest, there is a floating bridge for 30 yuan per person. Note that it is not made of glass, and the bottom is hollow, so your phone can fall through. Be very careful! If you don't take this bridge, you can continue walking in the mountain. If it's your first time, it's recommended to take the bridge, as the scenery from the bridge is great. After crossing the bridge, you can collect spring water on the right side. It is very clear and cool, and the bottle frosts immediately after filling. It is drinkable and very refreshing. On the way down the mountain, there is a zoo. Feed costs 20 yuan per bag, including carrots, cabbage, and sausages. Along the way down, you can see pigs, horses, cows, sheep, raccoons, and peacocks. At the foot of the mountain, there is a slide car for 20 yuan per person, but it is very short and just makes a turn, so it is not recommended. If you want to slide, go to Yexian Tower. After descending, you can eat spring water noodles for 20 yuan per bowl. There are no other options, just this one place. After eating, take the shuttle bus down the mountain and go home.

There was a flood in Fangshan in the summer, and the road to Bairui Valley was washed away in many places. There were many times when I thought I could not get through, but I always found another way and finally arrived at Bairui Valley after many twists and turns. The recent announcement said that it was temporarily closed, but in fact it is open and there is no admission fee. There is a shuttle bus (30/person) that takes tourists to the entrance of the mountain trail. Then tourists follow the signs on the side of the trail to visit all the scenic spots in the scenic area. Generally, tourists in good health can walk through the entire scenic area. Personally, I feel that tourists with children or the elderly do not need to go to Tianma Grassland and Glass Stone Island (there are also glass plank roads and Jurassic Forest). The scenery there is not very outstanding, and the big swing and other amusement facilities on the top of the mountain are out of operation, so they can be skipped. Go directly to the Jurassic Forest. There are many dinosaur models on both sides of the plank road. They shake their heads and roar every few minutes. Children will definitely be interested in them. The more you walk along this side, the more colorful the autumn scenery becomes, especially the Floating Cloud Bridge (charge 30/person) It is recommended to walk on the bridge, as the bridge is the best place to take photos of the colorful mountains on the west side. Instead of walking on the bridge, you can also go around along the mountain road and the plank road. The end point will meet the other side of the Floating Cloud Bridge. It is also a different kind of fun to walk through the sea of ​​​​flowers. Going down from the Floating Cloud Bridge, there are many sheds for small animals on the roadside, including piglets, goats, raccoons, donkeys, yaks, peacocks, etc. Wild squirrels jump down from time to time on the road, and you can feed and interact with them, leaving enough time for the children to have a good time in this section. The mountain top is windy and a bit cold in the shade, so don't be afraid to bring warm clothes when going up the mountain.
