[2025 Minamiawaji Stay] Travel Guide for Awaji Hamarikyu (Updated Apr)

#DomesticTravelRecord We drove to Awaji Island, crossing the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in our own car. We enjoyed a great drive♪ First, we had to fill our stomachs! We went to Craft Circus, where you can enjoy a meal and shopping for local specialties while watching the ocean and sunset of Awaji Island. Every seat has a view of the ocean, and it's a very open space. There's also a BBQ area, and a space to enjoy with your dog. The pizza baked in the oven in the large open kitchen looks delicious! We had a colorful salad and a beautiful drink. 📍Location: 2-2 Nojima Hirabayashi, Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture Once we've satisfied our appetites, we drive to the inn. This time, we're staying at Awaji Hamarikyu, a hotel on the west coast. It's a lovely Japanese-modern hotel where you can see Keino Matsubara Beach, which has been selected as one of the 100 best sunset spots in Japan, from your room. A large flower vase was displayed at the entrance, and the lobby with a stairwell was very cool. And since it was a gift trip for my elderly parents, I splurged and used the suite room on the top floor. The room had a large open-air bath as big as a mini pool, and it was a real hot spring. Shiozaki Onsen is famous for its beauty baths, and contains more baking soda than the three major beauty baths in Japan. The water feels like a thick lotion, and makes your skin smooth. And for dinner, we had a course of three-year-old tiger pufferfish, which is a specialty of Awaji Island. After a toast with fin sake, we had a feast of pufferfish, including sashimi, fried chicken, and hot pot. After waking up in the morning, we enjoyed the hot spring in our room and checked out. The colorful fruit-topped pancakes and iced vanilla latte made me feel happy. Then we rang the Bell of Happiness on the terrace of the cafe and rode on the swings. I don't really want to tell you about it! I'll introduce you to a special hotel. "Awaji Hamarikyu" is a modern Japanese resort hotel located in Keino Matsubara, a famous spot that is listed as one of the 100 best sunset spots in Japan. It is about a 5-minute drive from Nishi Awajimihara Interchange on Awaji Island. The special room on the top floor of this hotel is the most wonderful ♡ When you enter the room, the large window immediately catches your eye, and you can see the entire Keino Matsubara and the Awaji Sea from the room. And on the terrace there is a large open-air bath like a pool! Open-air bath rooms are not uncommon, but the bath in this room is actually hot spring water. The water is amazing! The water of Shiozaki Onsen is surprisingly viscous and makes your skin smooth. And the sunset you can watch while soaking in the bath is spectacular! We had a kaiseki meal at the restaurant on the first floor, and the food made with Awaji Island's specialties was exquisite! The octopus in particular was soft and delicious. After the meal, we went to the lounge. Drinks in the lounge are free for guests, so I enjoyed a lot of Awaji onion shochu and whiskey. I had so much fun that I wanted to stay for a week.
