Archaeological Museum in Split 🇭🇷
#myhiddengems
During my summer vacation in Croatia, I had the chance to visit the Archaeological Museum in Split, and it was an enriching experience! 🏛️✨ Located in the heart of Split, just a short walk from Diocletian's Palace, this museum is a treasure trove of ancient artifacts. The entrance fee was a modest 60 HRK (about $9), which I found well worth it for the depth of history on display.
The museum showcases an impressive collection from prehistoric to Roman times, including sculptures, pottery, and ancient coins. One standout exhibit was the collection of Roman epigraphs and statues, which provided fascinating insights into ancient life. The museum's serene garden is also a great spot to relax after exploring the exhibits.
Nearby, don’t miss the Diocletian's Palace, a must-see for its historical and architectural significance, and the vibrant Riva promenade where you can enjoy local cafes and shops. The Archaeological Museum is definitely a highlight for history buffs visiting Split.
