Introducti
Introduction to the beginning of the trip:
On this trip to Macau, I made a special trip to Fisherman's Wharf - Marco Polo Open Air Plaza! It is said that Macau has had many new attractions in recent years, but Fisherman's Wharf has always been a classic choice for taking pictures, enjoying food and feeling exotic. If you want to walk around and take beautiful photos, but don't want to be crowded, this is a really comfortable chill place!
Attraction inventory recommendations:
The Marco Polo open-air plaza, which is particularly famous at Macau's Fisherman's Wharf, actually has a very European Roman square feel. The whole space is designed with retro stone pillars, fountains and arches. You can take pictures with enough foreignness. Many people come here specifically to take wedding or girlfriend travel photos. Every angle is perfect for taking pictures!
📸 Be sure to try to take photos at sunset, the sunlight shines on the stone pillars, the picture is particularly textured!
If you are tired of taking pictures, you can explore the food area around the square. There are many specialty Western, Chinese and dessert shops in Fisherman's Wharf. There are also performances and activities, sometimes just come across a musical performance or market.
📍Marco Polo Open Air Plaza
- Address: Near Sun Yat-sen Avenue, Lobby Area, Macau Special Administrative Region
- Opening hours: Open 24 hours a day, it is recommended to go best during the day and dusk hours, the night lighting effect is quite fantastic.
Itinerary Tips:
According to my personal real experience, Fisherman's Wharf is very comfortable to take pictures and enjoy food, lunch or afternoon tea time to go best, there will not be too many people, the whole square space is quite beautiful, I had a lot of fun taking pictures! Choose a table near the big square to sit down, eat and eat can look at the fountain to take pictures, really have foreign travel fu ~
Remember to bring a camera or phone with a safe charger, because the beautiful scenery will really make people keep taking pictures! If you are afraid of the sun, you can wear a hat or a thin jacket. The weather in Macau is sometimes quite sunny in the afternoon.
Ending: Transportation + food recommendations + delivery trip tips
In terms of transportation, Fisherman's Wharf is not far from the city, it is convenient to take a taxi or bus (the bus stop is near Sun Yat-sen Avenue).
For food, I recommend La Cucina Italian Restaurant or The Grill in Fisherman’s Wharf. For dessert, try Café Martello's Tiramisu, perfect for taking pictures~
Practical tips:
1. The best light for photography in the morning/dusk, not afraid of backlight;
2. The square has a beautiful pool position and stone steps to sit, photographing people and scenery in one, especially excellent;
3. If heading for the weekend, keep an eye out for events, racing festivals or art fairs are quite atmospheric;
4. There is also a convenience store nearby to replenish water and buy snacks, so you won't be tired after walking all day.
