The Ancient Nanfeng Kiln stretches southward along the mountainside, close to the Dongping River. It is 34.4 meters long and 30.87 meters long inside. Because the kiln faces south, it is called Nanfeng Ancient Kiln due to the cool summer breeze. The Ancient Nanfeng Kiln is of great historical and scientific research value for studying the specialized production of pottery in China during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the structural design of dragon kilns, and the evolution of firing technology. The Ancient Nanfeng Kiln was listed in the Guinness World Records as the "best-preserved and longest-used traditional wood-fired dragon kiln in the world."

This is a record of my trip to Foshan, Guangdong during the Lunar New Year. During the Lunar New Year, I visited the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln in Foshan. It is not only rich in historical and cultural heritage, but also full of festive atmosphere, allowing me to experience the unique charm of Lingnan culture. Many ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties are preserved here. Walking on the ancient stone road, I felt like I was traveling through time and space. There are two national treasure-level dragon kilns in the scenic area, Nanfeng Kiln and Gao Kiln, which have a history of more than 500 years and are still in use today. They are rare wood-fired dragon kilns in the world. You can observe the structure of the kiln up close, learn about the kiln firing process, and feel the charm of ceramic culture. During the Lunar New Year, the scenic area is full of festive atmosphere. On the second day of the Lunar New Year, I was lucky enough to participate in the "Add Firewood" activity at Gao Kiln. You need to buy firewood outside for about CNY 18, and then you can enter to add firewood. Under the guidance of the craftsman, I added a piece of firewood to the burning dragon kiln, which means adding blessings and luck for the new year. The Ancient Nanfeng Kiln is a charming place that perfectly integrates tradition and modernity, allowing people to feel the profound heritage of Lingnan culture while having fun.

🔆 I had a great Lantern Festival in Foshan this year. I have another reason to like Guangdong. Let me share my itinerary over the past two days. ✅ Ancestral Temple ▶️ The lion dance performance at the Ancestral Temple was what I was looking forward to the most on this trip to Foshan. We watched the earliest show (10:00–10:30). There were already a lot of people, and since it was still the holiday, there were no seats left if you came a little late. ▶️ To be honest, I was a little disappointed with the lion dance performance. Although they performed very well, it was not so pure because of the commercialization. But since I was already there, it was still worth seeing. ▶️ After watching the lion dance, you can also visit the Huang Feihong Memorial Hall, Ye Wen Hall, and other places, all of which are in the Ancestral Temple. ✅ Lingnan Tiandi ▶️ You can reach Lingnan Tiandi by exiting through the door near the lion dance. It is a great place to visit and is perfect for young people to check in and take photos. The word "Foshan" is also here. ▶️ There are many things to eat, but they are generally expensive. I highly recommend 📌 No. 3 Coffee House, a coffee shop with a great atmosphere. There were not many people at noon, and the combination of its bowl cover coffee and Lingnan-style walls was really impressive! ✅ Xianxing Bookstore (Chuihong Road Branch) ▶️ I really like this bookstore. It is located under a residential building. The large floor-to-ceiling glass windows look great, and the coffee is delicious. The white cut pork knuckle, roast goose, and barbecued pork were all good. ▶️ Yuanlulu Dessert This was just average.
