#summervacay At the arrival hall, I came across the popular local convienient store brand - Indomaret Point which is rampant across Medan Sumatra area. The convienient store sells various ready-to-go food, snacks, icecream, beverages and daily necessities for travellers. The store also houses Point Coffee for those who crave for a coffee boost. I grabbed some mineral waters from the store and proceeded to get transport to Medan town.

#summervacay My summer trip form KLIA to Medan Kualanamu airport started with the Batik Air flight. Upon arriving at Kualanamu airport, I could see the beautiful landscape from the sky where there is highway and local settlements around and lush greenery abound. Upon touched down, I could see the beautiful Kualanamu Airport which is rather new and welcome to Kualanamu. I cannot wait to explore Medan this summer trip.

#summervacay My Medan summer trip started with arrival at its Kualanamu International Airport. The airport is not so big, but new and easy to navigate. Upon disembarking from aeroplane, we headed to immigrations, filled visa exemption form, took our luggage, passed immigration and security check all within 30 mins. The arrival hall has several eaters and restaurants. We proceeded to the grab pick up point and ready to head to Medan - the Gothic City.

The Airport Railink is a reliable, efficient option to travel between Kualanamu Airport and Medan City for both local and international travelers. Airport travel and transit can be so pleasurable and time well spent when using the Airport Lounge. I used Traveler'a Lounge at KL international Airport. So appreciated a nice lovely shower after walking around the Airport trying to find where the lounge, but it's worthwhile looking for one. Unlimited hot and cold all day meal, clean bathroom (though a bit small toilet area), shower area and working with a charge station. My time was spent effectively. Instead of roaming around the airport, spend more .only on meals and coffee to find a place to sit down and work and compete with others for the charging station, The airport lounge is the way to go.

I always thought it will be useful to know what souvenirs can be sold at the airport and are they more expensive or cheaper so that I can do my last min shopping if needed. Hence sharing this post for Medan airport. Medan is famous for bolu meranti and yes you can buy many of them here (all flavours/ gift packs and even the 3 flavours in one box)! Albeit slightly more expensive at 900k-1.2m, perhaps 200-300k more than outside. I will grab them here because outside is hard to find gift packs. Kueh ambon, lao pobing are also sold here. But do rmb to shop before u clear customs! Variety are way more outside customs. #travelanywhere
