The French Alps 🏔️
⛷️ Alpe d’Huez, nestled in the French Alps, is a paradise for ski lovers, hikers, and adventure seekers alike! Known as the “Island in the Sun,” it boasts over 300 days of sunshine per year, which means breathtaking views and sunny slopes. In winter, it's a skier's dream with over 250 km of ski runs, including the epic 16 km Sarenne – the longest black run in the world! 🎿
If you're visiting in summer, Alpe d'Huez turns into a hiker and cyclist haven. It’s famous for its 21 switchback bends, a must-ride for any cyclist inspired by the Tour de France. Hiking trails offer spectacular views of mountain landscapes, alpine lakes, and wildflowers, making it an excellent spot for nature photography.
💡 Travel Tip: Try to catch a sunrise or sunset from the Pic Blanc summit, accessible by cable car – the panoramic view at 3,300 meters above sea level is unforgettable!

Traveling Fate
A winter destination in summer
#myhiddengems
While Alpe d'huez is a very famous winter destination. Particularly for winter sports. I was able to visit it during summer. A season that turns this Alpine town into a spectacular nature destination with greenery. As the snow melts and the scenery changes. Alpe d’Huez genuinely feels a bit bigger. You can get around easily in your car and parking is really easy as well, such is the feeling of space in the summer.
The weather turns to hot and sunny with lovely long days that make for excellent outdoor adventures. Besides, hiking trails and long walks of nature. Cycling is very big in this region. Ever since the Tour de France first came to resort in the 1950s it has become a mecca for cyclists of all abilities. Most of my holidays involve a lot of hiking and exploring on foot. One my favourite things to do here were the walks around the medieval fort towards the Col de Sarenne.
