#singapore Where - Nan Yang Dao Address - 119 Aljunied Ave 2 #01-48 Singapore 380119 (near Aljunied Food Centre) Average price per pax - ~$12 Rating - 😋😋😋😋 Value for money - 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Nan Yang Dao serves very nice Malaysian food at wallet friendly prices and I’m so glad that they have opened a midst the HDB enclave. Managed to get a promotion where the set comes with a drink (almost free). We had the Big Bowl Curry Mee, KL Hokkien Mee and Penang Fried Kway Teow. All are their more popular choices. The Big Bowl Curry Mee comes with lots of ingredients. Enough for 2 ladies actually. Their Penang Fried Kway Teow unfortunately wasn’t that fragrant, no wok-hey. Many it’s due to the busy dinner crowd. The KL Hokkien Mee is a tad too starchy for us. Still we will be back, to try other dishes. They even have vegetarian option for non-meat diners. Price per Person - $5-$7 per dish Rating - 🌱🌱🌱🌱 With the smothering heat, nothing beats having a nice meal in aircon comfort. There’s a newly opened food court near to Aljunied Hawker Centre which has not attracted a big crowd yet so we went to check them out. Lots of available seats for us. Saw a very brightly lighted stall and it turns out that they serve vegetarian dishes. So we ordered the Tom Yam Fried, Fried Tang Hoon, Curry Monkeyhead mushroom rice and Fried dumplings to try. The main dishes are surprisingly tasty with “wok-hey” (charred fragrance) for both the Tom Yam Fried Rice and Fried Tang Hoon. The curry monkeyhead mushrooms are well braised too. But the fried dumplings is a disappointment though. Too hard. Prices are typical food court prices and hence it is still affordable. It is also a place where the people build up their relationship with one another. You can find almost anything there. From beauty parlours to all in one shops where you can get everything under one roof at an amazing cheap price. There are also bakery shops around the corner. Not forgetting the food shops around the area where you can buy back food to share .

#travelanywhere The neighbourhood shopping street which is the pasar Malam, is located outside the aljunied crescent food centre. The long stretch of stalls will definitely catch your eyes. There are yummy snacks and drinks, there are also durian stall sellers there selling tasty durians, as well as shops selling mobile phone accessories and clothing too. You can spend some time taking a walk around there. If you are thirsty, you can also grab a drink from the stall there. It is definitely a great place to shop just like shopping at the pratunam market in the morning.

#travelanywhere We bought the famous claypot rice from the aljunied crescent food centre. We waited for thirty minutes to queue up for the rice .The $6.50 claypot rice is very yummy. The chicken parts that they used were on the chicken thighs . In addition, they have cooked it just right and the meat is tender. They marinated the chicken and made it taste yummy. The rice was fragrant and you can taste each of the rice. It is topped with preserved salted fish too. You will definitely have a great meal there.

#travelanywhere At the aljunied crescent food centre, there is a stall selling the durian. The stall always has many people surrounding the stall. The durian prices are decent . Most importantly the quality of the durian is excellent . The next time if you are staying near this area, be sure to visit this stall to try out the yummy durian. You will definitely have a great time there, the bitter sweet creamy milky texture durian . Be sure to visit there at the right time as the durian usually arrives after 6 pm in the evening. You will be able to try a wide assortment of durian there.

#fallishere The true Buddha Shi Cheng Association is a newly renovated huge temple located at the Sims avenue. This is the first time I visited the temple after their renovation. This temple belongs to the Tibetans Buddhism teachings. They do have special occasions and activities such as the thousand eyed thousands armed Bodhisattva year long light offering event where the worshippers prayed together. There are also mediation ceremonies by the dharma on selected dates. The temple has many Buddha statues which are very impressive. Be sure to visit the temple on the weekends afternoon.
