Busan Fall Trip to Gijang 🍁
#BusanTravel #GijangTravel
I think I can stop going to Haeundae and Gwangalli in Busan. It's time to travel to Gijang County in Busan! There are so many beautiful places here ❣️
Busan has such great transportation, so I mostly take the KTX and public transportation. But sometimes, when I drive, I expand my travels and head to Gijang County in Busan. It's beautiful here, with both the ocean and the forest. :)
🌊 Haedong Yonggungsa Temple on the Sea
✔️ Address: 86 Yonggung-gil, Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan
Even when I don't have a car, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is a must-visit. The title "temple on the sea" alone makes it a romantic and mystical place.
Walk through the small market-like alley and you'll encounter the 12 zodiac animals. Enter through the gate and descend to a bridge where you can throw coins and make a wish. It's a great photo spot.
🌊 Jukseong Dream Cathedral, a Cathedral on the Sea
✔️ Address: 134-7 Jukseong-ri, Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan
You've seen temples on the sea in Busan, so you have to see a cathedral on the sea too! Jukseong Dream Cathedral, a major tourist attraction in Gijang, isn't a real cathedral where mass is held. It's a popular photo spot, having been the set for the 2009 drama "Dream."
Small pieces of art are on display inside the cathedral. While only a few pieces are displayed in a small space, it's a truly unique experience to discover an unexpected exhibition in a place like this.
🌊 Jang's Haenyeo House, a Restaurant for Abalone Porridge
✔️ Address: Yeonhwa 1-gil, Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan
The joys of traveling include exploring tourist attractions, but also savoring delicious food. Today's lunch is at Jang's Haenyeo House, where they serve fresh seafood picked by haenyeo divers and delicious abalone porridge!
If you order a set meal for two, you'll get a few side dishes and an assortment of seafood, including steamed scallops, raw fish, and live octopus. Abalone porridge follows.
The sashimi and seafood were fresh, without any fishy smell, and the warm, savory abalone porridge was simply delicious. Sashimi and seafood are best enjoyed by the sea. 👍
🌲 Bamboo Forest, Ahopsan Forest
✔️ Address: 37-1 Midong-gil, Cheolma-myeon, Gijang-gun, Busan
I've seen more than my fair share of ocean views since coming to Busan. Now, it's time to head to the forest for some healing. There's a beautiful bamboo forest in Gijang-gun, Busan. It's a famous filming location, and it became even more famous after appearing in the movie "Mr. Sunshine." :)
Since it's privately owned land, the entrance fee feels a bit steep, but the refreshing greenery and clean air enveloping my whole body and mind are quite satisfying.
The countless bamboo trees densely packed together in this vast expanse are a magnificent sight. It's exactly like something out of a martial arts novel, or something you've seen in movies. Just looking up at the bamboo trees stretching straight into the sky is breathtaking.
Ahopsan Forest isn't just a bamboo forest; it also includes pine and fir forests, making it quite large and diverse. The well-maintained and tranquil Ahopsan Forest is a place you'll want to stop and linger, even while walking. ❣️
