Virgin Island
The warm water had completely swallowed the entire sandbar of Pungtud Island when our boat docked. My niece and nephew could not believe their eyes. For the first time ever, they saw a sandbar, a lengthy, white sandbar that extended to the shallow sea from a small island. Immediately, the kids hopped out of the boat, ran to along the sandy runway, and made little splashes along the way.
More commonly known to tourists as Virgin Island, Pungtud Island lies in the middle of a relatively shallow area between Balicasag and Panglao Islands. It is always a crowd favorite because of its C-shaped naked sandbar.
“It looks like a snake!” my nephew exclaimed, referring to the shape of the island.
“Or a tadpole!” shouted my niece. It looks like so many things. A comma. A bent spoon. A hair follicle. A sperm cell. Name it.
Unlike in Balicasag Island, there’s not much to do here other than bathe in the sun. One thing I like doing here, though, is to just sit or lie in the sand with my body half dipped in the shallow water. There’s not much space to swim around either because the island is surrounded by sea grass. It’s alright for snorkeling because there are some fish hiding underneath. But it can underwhelm visitors who just came from Balicasag.
But in the itinerary, I’d like to think of Virgin Island as the “relaxing” part of the tour. You know, where you don’t make much effort to appreciate the sheer beauty of the surroundings. You just lie in the sand, make little splashes in the water, drink fresh buko juice, share stories with family or friends, and just have pure, relaxing, fun time. Other times, we liked pretending to be part of Aang’s entourage and try sand-bending.

Molly Bistro
Great food, great ambiance, great service. Foods are very delicious particularly the beef shank and my super favorite Tuna tartare- a must-try dish here. The waiters are very hospitable and very attentive to all diners's needs, very welcoming and cheerful. The place is so Lit with and I am beyond impressed!!!!! Will definitely recommend to my friends and will definitely come back for the Tuna tartare.
Dishes are savory with perfect presentation. Some dish are a hit or miss like the chicken Cordon Bleu which only have a small portion rather than their other dishes.
The Crispy Pork with Kare-kare sauce is a must try. Check out their cocktails too.
Some of the menu were incorporated with molecular gastronomy. Chef's kiss!
Place is nice and surely looks like Mist (same owner). My only concern is the place where it is located. It can be crowded as it is located in a busy street/highway.
Reservations can be made too.
A fusion bar and resto in Panglao, situated near alona beach and other resorts. With carefully curated desert boho interiors, and matching well-plated tasty meals. Loved the Tuna tartare, grilled chops in basil sauce, and kani salad. The wait list is abit long during weekends so make sure to get a reservation before hand.

Alona Beach
The Alona beach is a popular public beach located at the south-west tip of Panglao Island, Bohol in the Philippines. It is known for its white sand, rocky cliffs, and commercial facilities that line the 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) stretch of the beach. It is located near a coral reef and is a popular scuba-diving and snorkeling spot. It is situated less than two miles from the Bohol-Panglao International Airport.
The beach is named after Filipino actress Alona Alegre who ran naked along the beach in 1973 for the movie “Esteban” which she co-starred along with Fernando Poe Jr.
The beach is located at barangay Tawala in Panglao, one of the two municipalities in Panglao Island, Philippines. It is situated around 20 kilometres (12 mi) from the port of Tagbilaran and about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from the Bohol-Panglao International Airport. It is accessible by a sealed road, by car, motorbike, airport bus or jeepney. Alona Beach is rather small as it spans less than one kilometre (half-mile) of white powder sand surrounded by low rocky cliffs.
The beach is connected to the Anos Fonacier Circumferential Road. An airport bus directly connects the beach to the airport and to Tagbilaran.

Bohol South Beach Hotel
We were situated on the ground floor with the pool directly outside our door which we loved. The service was excellent, our breakfast was cooked to order and it was delicious. There’s a free shuttle to and from Alona Beach. The room was a little dated but wouldn’t take much to touch up.
The pool was great and we used it a few times a day, was pretty joyful swimming in the rain too.
The view was fantastic especially in the morning when the tide came in. All in all I’d recommend as a good quality budget stay.

The BEST hotel in Bohol
This is by far the best resort in Bohol. The place alone is super luxurious and also the service. The Resort has a vast waterway pool, world class dive facilities including dive swimming pool, and over five signature restaurants and bars which is very rare in Bohol. They also offer breakfast in the pool where you can eat through a floating table. It was a great experience overall.

Chocolate Hills, Bohol Island
If your ever in Bohol , a must see , is the spectacular Chocolate Hills of Bohol
On Bohol , there are up to 1776 Chocolate Hills - no I didn’t count them 😁😁
The reason these natural Sandstone Hills are called Chocolate Hills ... is during the dry season , these graphic Hills are brown in colour ... thankfully during our tour of the local area ... the Chocolate Hills were covered in lush green ( even had thunderstorms during our visit )
Interesting ( from our tour guard ) the Bohol’s Chocolate Hills are counted annually , to confirm each hill is still geographically classified as a hill ... for Bohol statistics ( 40 metres above ground level)
If you feel energetic 😀😬 it’s 214 steps up to the panoramic observation lookout ... from the tourist information office & tourist drop off , turn around location ... at this must see Tourist location 😎🧐
During our memorable holiday to Bohol , earlier this month ... we were able to visit the Chocolate Hills , by taking a Day Tour from our Hotel in Tagbilaran City ... during our private tour of Bohol ( there are also organised group tours ) we were able to visit other scenic locations , around the interior of Bohol island ... these tours are usually good priced
Highly recommend - take your camera 😁😁

Veraneante Resort, Bohol
One of the best place to stay if you are in Bohol. Situated in a quiet location that is away from the touristy destinations of Bohol and Panglao Island Room was so so spacious and the swimming pool was clean and inviting with a few sun beds around. The food in the restaurant was also great! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Since the resort is a bit away from the main attractions and Alona Beach, the resort offers free shuttle to Alona Beach once a day. This is a highly recommended place to stay specially for couples.

The beauty of Quinale Beach
Bohol has many beautiful bone-white sand beaches; one of them is Quinale Beach in Anda. It is a three-kilometer long fine white sand beach with beautiful turquoise water and breathtaking view of sunrise and sunset. It is slowly gaining popularity but still not as famous as Alona Beach and Dumaluan Beach. Its distance from Tagbilaran City has allowed it to keep some of its idyllic charm. It is a 2 hour ride from the city. This public beach is the ideal tropical destination, because of its swaying coconut trees, powdery shores, laid back atmosphere, and cool turquoise waters. My cousin and I enjoyed the sunset view here. Truly one of the beautiful beaches in Bohol.

Marine sanctuary of Balicasag
Balicasag is an island popular for its marine sanctuary where one can enjoy Balicasag Island snorkeling and diving. It is part of the island hopping tour in Panglao.Balicasag Island is home to one of the best beaches in Bohol purely for its glistening white sands and its abundance of marine life just offshore. It is a very small island with amazing snorkeling. The water is crystal clear and there were plenty of turtles swimming amongst the coral. There is a huge drop-off shelf that is great to check out as the fish swim past in schools. We enjoyed the snorkeling here. Lots of corals and fishes. Most come here for diving too.

Chocolate Hills in Bohol is a famed tourist attraction in the Philippines which continues to draw attention for its unique and majestic characteristics. There are more than 1,000 symmetrical mounds, conical and dome-shaped that most people liken them to Hershey's Kisses.
The name 'Chocolate Hills' is derived from their appearance in summer where the lush green grass turns into a chocolate brown colour. The exact number of haycock hills has strangely never been recorded. It has been estimated that the island of Bohol is home to up to 1800 of the dome shaped hills.
They are covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season, hence the name. The Chocolate Hills is a famous tourist attraction of Bohol. They are featured in the provincial flag and seal to symbolize the abundance of natural attractions in the province.
