This place is a mecca for anglers, but even if you don't go all the way to Okinawa, there are beautiful seas in Shikoku. Of course, Kochi is the southernmost island, so it takes 3 hours from Kochi city. It's easy to give up because it's far away, but when you see the spectacular view here, it's a view that makes you forget all your fatigue. Kashiwajima is a small island in Otsuki Town, on the southwestern tip of Kochi Prefecture, with a circumference of about 4km and connected to the Otsuki Peninsula by two bridges. The beautiful emerald green waters surrounding the island are noted for their high transparency throughout the year. The reason for this is that the Kuroshio Current means that there are almost no impurities such as plankton and sediment in the sea, and there are no large rivers nearby, so domestic wastewater does not flow into the sea. Drive west from Kochi city for about 3 hours! The highway ends halfway through, but it's worth the time. There is bluefin tuna from Kashiwajima, and the water is incredibly clear. There were even wild dolphins swimming around 🐬 There are many divers in the town, and we stayed at the guesthouse Fureai Kaiyuri! The first floor has a dining room and a bath, the second floor has a toilet, washbasin, refrigerator, and rooms, and there are several rooms, and the four of us stayed in a single-floor room on the third floor, about 20 tatami mats in size. This time we stayed with our family, and we were very satisfied with the meals for the kids and the meals full of seafood for the adults! The bluefin tuna steak was so delicious that we bought some to take home! We didn't have breakfast, but we swam a lot in the sea in the morning, and at night we went squid fishing with the locals. We didn't catch any, but it was a great experience to be able to fillet the squid that the captain caught and eat it on the boat! Access by private vehicle has also greatly improved in recent years, making it possible to visit Prefectural Route 43 without having to pass through narrow roads. When you arrive at the island, there will be a security guard who will guide you to the parking lot. The fee is 500 yen. The parking lot is spacious and can accommodate about 160 regular cars. As I was walking towards Kashiwajima Beach, a local person saw dolphins on this quay. So l watched for a while and two dolphins showed up again and again.

#japantrip It was a very clean and beautiful beach even though it was small and packed with tourists but you could still see some fishes swimming and having showers just right next to an access was also good with a parking lot next to clean beach in Kochi. Beautiful view of the ocean. Not too crowded so if you’re looking for a peaceful place to connect with nature, it is a perfect place to visit.

#japantrip There is a sign that says it is only 50 meters from the prefectural road, and you have to park your car on the roadside in a plaza and climb some stairs to get there. If you only see Kannon Rock, you can see it right away, but to get to this observation deck, you have to go up the stairs and go further to the right. As you reach Dontsuki, an observation deck appears on the cliff along the coast, but Kannon Rock itself cannot be seen clearly from here. Instead, you can enjoy spectacular views along the coast such as Odo Beach and Kashiwa Island. It's easy and worth a visit when sightseeing in Kashiwajima.
