Enjoyed the pool Villa, the house keeping staff are great. They serve up contemporary interior design, exquisite sea views, and private pools and we had one night of private BBQ facilities at our open balcony. The rooms are beautiful and it’s like a mini Santorini in Asia! The service at Montigo was 5 stars top notch. Everyone was so friendly and smiley all the time. They have buggy to bring us to our villas, and also lounge, pool bar to enjoy the facilities. Not to mention spa too ☺️ Address: Jl. Even though this Indonesian island is located just a few kilometers away from Singapore by sea, it never fails to leave us amazed by its wild beauty, very affordable accommodation and food, and superb option for a short getaway. And of course, Trip.com has so many great options and deals for us to book our next vacation to Batam (; This time around we visited Batam as a group of 3 families with young children. We wanted to have some family fun and so we decided to explore Panbil Nature Reserve Park. It was really easy to get there either by Grab or Gojek. There are lots of family and children friendly activities available at the park including ATV, trekking with the deers, and some of the more kid friendly stuff like feeding the farm animals (see images). Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay at Batam in Nov 2023 and would love to head back there again this year to try other exciting activities like kayaking and water skiing etc. and to satisfy our cravings for the awesome food there! #batam2023 #batam2024 #indonesia2024

At the Grand Batam Mall, it feels like ION in Singapore? Living up to its name, it’s grand and has a lot of stuff to do in the mall. You can also do thrift shopping in Batam too as it’s extremely cheap. Try out interesting activities you won’t normally do in Singapore too, like paintball, ATV and riding a jet pack.#batam

Cafe-hopping in Batam

Just a few hours’ ride away from Singapore, you can easily get to the island of Batam for a short weekend getaway! With the good exchange rates there, cafe-hopping becomes a lot more affordable and enjoyable. One of the cafes that made an impression was this one located near Grand Batam mall. It was an artisan shop that made their own flavoured tarts by hand. We tried a few of their flavours as we couldn’t decide which to get! I personally would recommend the signature and Hojicha flavours, which tasted lighter. Another cafe we visited was better known for their unique coffee and cakes. I really liked the chocolate fudge cake but you might want to skip on the lemonade as it was overly sweet. Amazing Birthday Getaway at Montigo Resort!

The dinner was absolutely amazing, with stunning views to complement it. We thought the courses wouldn’t be too filling, but to our surprise, we were completely full by the end! The highlight of the evening was a surprise fireworks display I had arranged for my boyfriend, which made the night even more special.
