The castle once stood in the upper part of the village, where a church now stands. The heart of the old town is the Plaza Mayor, home to a beautiful 18th-century fountain. Equally striking is the Church of St. Andrew (12th-13th centuries), whose bell tower is later, dating from the 15th century. Inside the church, you can see the "Christ of Sala do Christ," a late 12th-century Romanesque statue approximately 62 centimeters tall. The village offers many activities, such as horseback riding, golf, swimming, hiking on many marked routes, and fishing. The traditional Feast of Santa Cruz is celebrated on May 3rd. To the west of the town, along the Garonne River, lies the Arties Thermal Baths, which were known since Roman times, as confirmed by numerous archaeological discoveries. Guided tours are apparently conducted every Monday to Friday at 5 PM, offering detailed explanations of the paintings, particularly the depiction of the Last Judgment near the apse. Thanks to the guide, we learned about the nearby Saint Bertrand de Comminges Cathedral. Before leaving, it is recommended to take a photo of the church and its surroundings from the cemetery. By the way, using a stroller is no problem as you can use the ramp instead of the entrance steps.
