Iceland adventure on the Golden Circle 🛫
#outdooradventures
My outdoor adventure along Iceland's Golden Circle was unforgettable! 🗺️ Starting in Reykjavík, we set off on a road trip to explore some of the most stunning natural wonders the country has to offer. First stop: Thingvellir National Park, where I walked between tectonic plates – such a surreal experience! The entrance is free, and the views of the rift valley are breathtaking.
Next up was Geysir, home to Iceland’s famous erupting hot springs. Watching Strokkur spout boiling water into the air every few minutes was so exciting! 🌋 Then we headed to Gullfoss Waterfall, a majestic double-tiered cascade that left me in awe of nature's power. Make sure to bring a waterproof jacket because the mist is intense!
What I loved most about this adventure was the proximity to each spot. The whole circle can be done in a day, but there's plenty to explore if you take your time. Don't miss the nearby Kerid Crater – it's a small entry fee, but worth it for the vivid red volcanic rock and turquoise lake. Iceland’s Golden Circle is a must for any outdoor enthusiast.

Iceland in November, where you truly meet with Mother Nature
Took multiple day tours from #reykjavik to The #goldencircle, #snaefellsnes Peninsula, and the #southcoasticeland. The landscape and natural scenery in #iceland are breathtaking. Literally blown away by both the views and the winds there (it was really strong at some spots).
I am thankful that the weather was good throughout the trip. It is even more beautiful on a clear sunny where you can see the colours of the sun and light shining on the white snow. And when there are no clouds to cover the magical #northernlights at night.

Exploring Iceland’s Ring Road: A Journey Through Breathtaking Landscapes 🇮🇸
A Road Trip Around Iceland’s Ring Road 🚐
My van journey around Iceland’s Ring Road was an adventure through some of the most breathtaking landscapes I’ve ever seen. The freedom to explore at my own pace allowed me to fully immerse myself in the natural beauty that unfolded around every bend.
The Golden Circle: A Stunning Start 🌋
I began my trip with the Golden Circle, where the dramatic Þingvellir National Park showcased the meeting point of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. The rift valley, with its rugged cliffs, provided a stunning backdrop for my first photo, perfectly capturing the raw beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage site.
Next, I visited Geysir, where the Strokkur geyser’s explosive eruptions created an exhilarating moment, captured in a photo of boiling water shooting high into the air. Gullfoss waterfall was the final highlight, where I photographed the powerful cascade framed by the lush surrounding landscape.
The South Coast: Waterfalls and Black Sand Beaches 🏔️
The South Coast offered iconic sights, starting with Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. At Seljalandsfoss, I snapped a photo from behind the falls, capturing the shimmering curtain of water. Skógafoss, with its wide cascade and rainbow, was equally mesmerizing.
Further along, I visited Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach. The towering basalt columns and crashing waves made for a dramatic photo that truly encapsulated the wild beauty of Iceland’s coastline.
The East Fjords and North Iceland: Tranquil Beauty 🌄
The East Fjords brought a sense of solitude, with quiet roads winding through steep cliffs. A photo of my van parked by a serene fjord captured this peaceful landscape. In North Iceland, the otherworldly lava formations of Dimmuborgir and the geothermal activity at Hverir provided a stark contrast, highlighting Iceland’s diverse terrain.

Golden Circle Day Tour in Iceland
For those new to Iceland, the Golden Circle Day Tour is a must. It includes Thingvellir National Park, Geysir, and Gullfoss waterfall. Thingvellir National Park was listed as a historical and geological heritage by UNESCO in 2004 because it is located in the middle of the rift between the two major earth plates (North America and Eurasia) moving apart at a speed of 2.5 cm per year (Figures 1-2); it is also the pioneer of the democratic parliamentary system (AD 930), Figure 3 is the site of the assembly, Figure 4 is the place of drowning execution. The first person to be sentenced to death by the assembly was a woman in 1280. Figure 5 is the Geysir, the highest Geysir is in Yellowstone Park in the United States, Figures 6-7 are Gullfoss Waterfall. Figure 9 is the natural phenomenon of the Arctic sun dog (dog chasing light), Figure 8 is the so-called Jesus light.
