Window shopping was the perfect thing to do when the weather was rainy and gloomy all day long in Kawaguchiko.
Head on to Fujisan Station Shopping Centre which is one stop away from Kawaguchiko Station.
Store your luggage, if any inside the locker storage at the train station.
Go window shopping for cute limited version of Mount Fuji souvenirs like paper weights, kit kat chocolates, peter rabbit tea products and so on.
And then indulge yourself in three layer soft cone ice cream (mount fuji version of blue and vanilla swirl) and do try the hot taiyaki pancake (japanese snack) with chocolate or red bean fillings.
They are delicious !

Shibazakura Festival under Mount Fuji
What to play in Japan in May?
If you have a trip around Tokyo,
I recommend going to see the shibazakura under Mount Fuji.
🌸🌸🌸
Shibazakura is a kind of low-growing herbaceous plant with white and light pink flowers,
which look like cherry blossoms growing on the ground.
The shibazakura festival at Fuji has 500,000 plants of different varieties,
white, pink, and purple form a 'earth' palette.
The colorfully paved natural garden
Echoes with Mount Fuji not far away.
In the garden, you can not only enjoy the flowers,
but also have afternoon tea, coffee shops, and tea houses.
If you like the comic character Peter Rabbit,
you can also stroll in the English garden,
and enter the romantic fairy tale world in a second.
When to go?
The shibazakura festival this year ends on May 28th. It is recommended to check the weather before going, and cloudy days are suggested for a visit in the afternoon.
How to go?
Outside the 'Kawaguchiko' station, at bus stop No. 7, there is a shuttle bus directly to the scenic area (about 1 bus per hour);
At the 'Shinjuku' bus station, you can join a day tour with a direct bus to the scenic area.
How to buy tickets?
At the 'Kawaguchiko' scenic area bus ticket office, you can buy round-trip bus tickets and admission tickets, priced at 2400 yen per person.
What is worth eating?
There are some mobile food stalls at the shibazakura festival site, the most recommended is the Peter Rabbit café, with many theme-limited meals, garden latte, bouquet salad, and bunny ear-shaped ice cream are very cute.
What is worth buying?
The specialty store has many Mount Fuji limited items, including some snacks, pastries, and teas that are exclusive to the shibazakura festival, as well as a lot of Peter Rabbit limited merchandise.
Ninjutsu Shinto no Michi
#2024wish Ninjutsu Shinto no Michi
Interesting venue where the bus tour put on a buffet lunch. The food was nice but not amazing and that equally describes the gardens you walk through. The ninja escape house is interesting but they let too many people through at once so you get to see other people solve the tricks before it's your turn........
I wish to travel to south korea in 2024....

#2024wish Beautiful view point of mount fuji with the lake! Came on a weekend with awesome sun and clear weather! However it was windy so the lake wasn't clear enough for a reflection.Tranquil and serene. You can spent hours just sit by the lake, drinking coffee and enjoying the view. Here is smaller than Kawaguchiko lake and not crowd people, nice place to stop off to take a photo of Mt.Fuji if you drive a car 🚗. I visited and has a good atmosphere and quiet place.
I wish to go back here in 2024
Maple Leaf Festival @ Momiji Corridor 🇯🇵
📍Momiji Corridor Lake Kawaguchi
14/11/2023
The Momiji corridor is a special highlight of our Kawaguchiko trip; we visited in mid-November and it was bustling! The colour is sooo gorgeous!
There is an event there and many people take pictures; you can walk up from there and find the best spot for your shot.
To get there, we take the red line bus and get off at Itchiku Kubota Art Museum.

They say if you hate ice cream, but come here, you must try it. It's their favourite and speciality at Oishi Park Cafe.
Their park is large enough for you to play with your children and pet. They have a small palyground and a beautiful autumnal tree.
Mt Fuji viewing is also calming and majestic, with many photographers present to capture the moment.

nurezzatul faseha mohammad said Autumn at Kawaguchiko
My first autumn experience ever!
The weather is so nice, so cooling. I was very lucky that on the day I was traveling, the sky was so clear so I can see Mt Fuji too.
Can't get enough of the view of autumn leaves and Mt Fuji at the Momiji Corridor. Lights up from sunset until 10pm.
How to get there: Take the Red Bus sightseeing bus from Kawaguchiko and alight at Itchiku Kubota Art Museum Bus stop.

Panoramic view of Mt. Fuji (fall edition)
This is Mt. Tenjo, one of the best spots to catch a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji and Kawaguchi Lake. Mount Tenjo is located on the shore of Lake Kawaguchi, an easy 10-15 minute walk from Kawaguchiko station. To reach the top, you can take the Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway on a short 3-minute ride from Kawaguchiko-han Station up to Fujimidai Station. You can also hike which takes approximately 45 minutes. You can see statues of a rabbit and a raccoon dog around the area, there is also a bell where you can make a wish.
Note: The ropeway is open daily from 9 a.m. (9:30 a.m. from December to February), with departures every 5-10 minutes. A round trip is ¥800 for adults and ¥400 for children, or one-way tickets are available for ¥450 and ¥230 respectively. (from the website)

Waku-ike Pond in Oshino Hakkai village
#wheretogo
Waku-ike Pond is a hidden gem in Oshino Hakkai and a must-visit for anyone traveling to Japan.
Its tranquil waters and stunning scenery make it an ideal location for nature lovers.
The pond is fed by snowmelt from Mount Fuji, which gives it crystal-clear waters that shimmer in the sunlight.
It is only one meter deep, making it the shallowest of all the ponds in the area.
There is a shrine nearby the pond which is beautifully decorated with intricate carvings and paintings.
It has a fascinating glimpse into Japan’s rich cultural heritage.
Autumn foliage at Fuji Kawaguchiko
#fallingseason
Autumn has arrived at one of the best thing to enjoy is the foliages from maple leaves. One of the best location to view them is Kawaguchiko, a town near Mount Fuji which offers a spectacular view of the mountain. Near the western most area of the town, there is a spot to take a very scenic picture of Mount Fuji behind the background of the maple leaves, called Momiji Kairo.
After taking the scenic picture, you can stroll across the corridor where the leaves are fiery red along both sides. The best thing is that there are lights illuminated at night for night viewing of the foliages as well, so fret not even when the day becomes dark. With the illumination the leaves are even more glaring and you will want to come back again witnessing the glory of mother nature.
Mt Fuji view from a bus
Was in Japan in Oct 223. Managed to catch Mt Fuji as we travelled on a bus to Lake Kawaguchiko but Mt Fuji was covered up by clouds by the time we reached Oishi Park. Was contemplating if we should have gone over to other parts of Lake Kawaguchiko to get a view but decided to go shopping at Gotemba Premium Outlets instead. Thankful for the earlier view. #freehotelstay #japan
The Remarkable Mt Fuji 🗻
#tokyotrip
Mt Fuji is one of the iconic and must-see destinations in Japan.
We took a bus trip from Tokyo to Mt Fuji and the morning started as a cloudy day and as we approached entrance gate to the 1st station, it was still cloudy and we were warned that we may not have a view.
We were dejected and we only had a glimpse of Mt Fuji when the clouds cleared for 10 secs.
We were originally expecting to get the the 5th Station but the road was closed due to the lower snow-line, so we only made it to the 1st Station.
You can view this mountain from many places on a clear day if you are lucky without going to Mt Fuji itself.
Luck wasn't on our side and clouds blocked our view of Mt Fuji.
The word "forbearance" in black on a white background is spread over all corners. Okinawa Ninja Village is located in Okinawa-mura, Minami-gun, Namdo-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture. In ancient Japan, the ninja was a special war killer who was given special "ninjutsu training" by a special institution. Usually, his face was black and his face was covered with only two murderous eyes. Now they have become the world of protection. The superhero, and the best among them is "fire, shadow, forbearance, the person", hahaha. Here, you can become a ninja to add to your own addiction, you can also enjoy the mysterious ninja performance, you can also unravel the secret passage of the house. The
Ninja Village souvenir shop is almost all about ninja-related products, from ninja clothing to headband, from ninja biscuits to martial arts knives, and ninja photo studios like photo stickers. I can't wait to rent a set of ninja clothes, only about 30 yuan, and how long it will take to wear in the village.
