I woke up
I woke up at 5:30 AM, took the 6:30 AM bus to Ipoh, and then took a Grab bus to finally arrive at Menglembu Market at 11:00 AM (they close at 12:00 PM). Although tiring, I was able to experience the local culture firsthand—that's the benefit of not joining a tour group.
Walking into the market, I bought local specialties at the best prices—they were absolutely delicious. Although I didn't get to try the famous Qiang Ji Yi Shao (they open at 1:00 PM), I finally got to try their famous paper-wrapped chicken, which was satisfying.

Ipoh: Quint Cafe Detour On route to Kuala Lumpur
#newyearnewtrip
📍Address: Red Mountain Sin Yoon Loong White Coffee
Lot.59241, Bukit Merah Industrial Estate, Batu 4 1/2, 31450 Ipoh, Perak
While on route to Kuala Lumpur, we decided to make a detour into Ipoh and headed to this
quint cafe near Ipoh town center. The rustic environment and cosy ambiance coupled with good food, makes this cafe a worthwhile pitt stop. We tried the Floating Cloud Noodle, Minced Braised Chicken Mushroom Noodle and Rice. Portions were acceptable and the taste was good. Service was also prompt and friendly. If you're heading to Ipoh or travelling via the North -South highway, give this place a try.

Coolest cafe in Ipoh!
Red mountain sin yoon long is located at one of the wood factory in Ipoh. This place is abit far from the city but it’s worth the travel time!! This is the coolest cafe in Ipoh because it’s open at a wood factory, you’re literally surrounded by nature and can even hear the birds crippling ( I’m not exaggerating it)! All the furniture here are made out of wood, and absolutely love the ambience here.
The staffs here are superb, all of them are very attentive and friendly. This place not only serve great traditional Ipoh white coffee and it also serve decent western coffee as well. The kayak toast bread here is one of the best in Ipoh, kaya is fragrant and toast is nicely toasted. We mainly ordered their famous Chinese food in Ipoh, my personal favourite is the fisherman sambal sotong rice, the sambal is so fragrant and it came with a very nice presentation!
We also enjoyed the Chee cheong fun, it was so silky smooth and the curry added an extra kick to the noodles. We are very pleased with the food and even more so with the environment. We walked around the wood factory after meal and took a lot of nice photos, high recommended if you’re visiting Ipoh!
