2025 Marilog Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in May)

What better way to relax and unwind than basking the lush, green landscapes out of town? 🥰 Entrance was 70 pesos from our last visit. Place is already gated (though I don't have any pic of it here). The short trek is also quite comfortable thanks to the cemented stairwalks. 🌟 Cars can go there since the road is already cemented, too, compared to our last visit where we had to ride a motorbike to get there. 🚗 There's also a parking area for visitors with vehicles, though it's outside the gate and just along the way. Most people go here for a quick trip to get some fresh air, perhaps most of the time the cold air. This was our experience going here. Everything was covered with fog and the cold breeze made us freeze. Good thing we brought out jackets to keep us warm and and tried their famous combo, Hot chocolate and Suman kept us warm. They also have cottages for overnight stay. Highway 81 is located just along BuDa, Bukidnon-Davao road. Brgy. Salumay to be more specific. There are a very few restaurants that will leave you dreaming about their food even after a month of being there and I must say Pilgrim is one of these restos. Even if we have to drive for an hour from Davao City just to get here. The food, the ambiance, the cool mountain breeze makes all the trip worth it. Pilgrim serves a fusion of dishes and pastries. The resto boasts of an open layout and you can see their master chefs and souz chefs doing the kitchen hustle like a coordinated orchestra! Their main dishes boast of a plethora of flavors, a treat for the taste buds indeed! but for me, the capatone dish was the dessert, the burnt cheesecake was unforgettable! Even now as I write this post, I can still remember how its creaminess lingered and how it was complemented by its burnt edges. Do not miss on ordering it when you're here! insider info: We have heard that their master chef came home from Canada to establish a resto here.

If you want a quick getaway from the city with great food along side with it, then HIGHWAY 81 is the place to be! room rates ranges from 1800 pesos for 2-3pax to 3200 pesos for 6pax. Delicious food are sososo affordable too! my favorite of them all is the "tsokolate" (hot chocolate). since Buda has always been popular due to its cool weather, the night we stayed in Highway 81, we are surrounded with fogs.(see the picture posted) the place is so serene, surrounded with pine trees and all you hear are the sound of the crickets which is so pleasing in the ears. We decided to bring playing cards and board games with us so we could have something to do during the night.

I definitely enjoyed bathing in Suawan River. This place is so relaxing, you'll surely forget your problems temporarily 😃. Winter wonder land 😁 The short days and longer nights, cold air and low humidity, and the quiet weather are all the things people like during winter. Such an amazing experience to feel like a little bit of a winter season here in Philippines. Not snowing though but surely feels icy cold 😉. So to enjoy and to have some winter feels did some dress up. The cold never bothered me anyway 😄
