Bamboo Rafting Down Mae Wang River
Amazing experience.
Getting here was alittle tricky to start with. You can get a bolt taxi up but not back so your best option is to hire a private driver. We used a red songthaews (red truck), they will be all over the old city of chiang mai, just stick your arm out and they will stop. Tell them where you want to go and negotiate your price. They will drive you there, wait and drive you back. They usually speak little English but show them photos or place on Google maps and they will follow it. Make sure your following on Google maps they are going in the correct direction.
On the side of the road are little stalls, all have life vests, you pay and collect your vest. You then get on the back of a pick up truck who drives you a few minutes down the road. Your raft and guide will be waiting for you.
You’ll get wet so bring a spare pair of clothes to change into after.
A fun unique experience for all. #chiangmai #Maewangriver #bamboorafting

It's incredibly private, whether you're coming as a couple or with a group of friends. The place offers a variety of room styles to suit every type of relaxation. How to Play with Elephants in Chiang Mai?
One of the most unique experiences in Chiang Mai, known for its relaxing atmosphere, is playing with elephants in the water🐘
📍 Elephant Sanctuary
The Elephant Sanctuary is an ideal eco-tourism destination that protects elephants for healing rather than exploiting them for tourism!
First, you feed the elephants and make nutritional supplements for them with your own hands🌴
Then, you take a short trek through the jungle with the elephants. The highlight of this course is a mud bath with the elephants and a refreshing water play in the valley!💦
💡 Pro Tip
They rent Karen tribe costumes to tourists here, so you don't have to worry about ruining your clothes. However, it's still a good idea to bring a change of clothes, swim trunks, and a towel👕
I highly recommend everyone to try this unique experience in Chiang Mai, which can sometimes be a bit boring!
Wat Luang Khun Win
Wat Luang Khun Win is located in the Mae Wang district and is a very beautiful place. The journey requires a lot of expertise if you plan to drive up yourself. There are many challenging spots, so it's better to hire a local chartered vehicle. For those who love driving, it's quite a thrilling experience. Especially during the rainy season, some parts of the road are soft dirt, requiring concentration and constant vigilance. But the trip is well worth it. I can only say it's amazing. Upon reaching the temple area, I am grateful and respectful to the creators who managed to build such a beautiful place for us to visit. Compared to the distance, one must have strong faith because the temple is very beautiful, like another dimension. It has a charming, magical, serene, and peaceful atmosphere. I used to think that to see a Naga, I had to go to the Isan region. I never thought I would find one in Chiang Mai. I was impressed with everything, whether it was the route, the distance, the road conditions, the weather, and the friends who helped plan the trip until we successfully drove here ourselves. The 5-kilometer distance on the mountain is quite extreme. Everyone should come visit! 😘🥰
To visit Wat Luang Khun Win, start your journey from Chiang Mai and drive towards Mae Wang District. The temple is about 1.5 hours away, and the drive is an adventure in itself, involving narrow, winding mountain roads that add to the secluded charm of the destination.
Begin by heading to Ban Kat market in Mae Wang, then follow Route 1013 until you reach Ban Sop Win. From there, turn right when you see the signs for "Wat Luang Khun Win" or the Karen Eco Lodge. The road gets rougher as you ascend into the mountains, but continue to follow the signs. You'll pass through a Karen village and then reach the temple, which is tucked away in the jungle, offering a peaceful and mystical atmosphere.

Faced the elephants in the room!
Visiting this sanctuary was like stepping right into their environment. It was very different from a ‘zoo’ experience and felt more like just a friendly encounter with these gentle giants while they go about their business🐘#elephant #thailand #animals

Elephun with Elephants at Kerchor Eco Park
Kerchor Eco Park was a fantastic trip. About 30 minutes by car from Chiang Mai city, the guides and caretakers of these wonderful creatures were very informative and taught all the guests a lot of information about the elephants and how to interact with these giant creatures. As well as feeding and petting the elephants, you can also join in a mud bath and river bath with them. It was an awesome experience that I would love to try again.#thailand #chiangmai #elephants
Living Green Elephant Sanctuary🐘
Couldn’t recommend highly enough!!
An amazing experience at a really ethical sanctuary where they really spoil the elephants and let them roam at free will in acres of land.

Take a nature trip, mini camping
At Fai Non, Mae Wang District, Chiang Mai Province
It doesn't take long to drive to get there. The way down may be a bit difficult.
You have to use a pickup truck. If you want a beautiful angle
It's unique, you may have to walk a bit.
But the result is not bad. The atmosphere is very good.
Sit with your feet in the cold water, listen to your favorite music.
Boil instant noodles, eat snacks, and chill with the gang.
Watch the sunset. It's perfect.
For summer or those who like to relax and not be bothered by hardship,
There are restaurants lined up to choose from. Sit in a pavilion.
You can also play in the water, my friend. #Fai Non #Fai Non Mae Wang

there are lots of ethnic Karen guides who lead hiking tours around their hill villages starting out from Mae Wang. We booked an overnight trek that included transport from Chiang Mai hotel, meals and guide to see 3 waterfalls, stay in the guide's village, feed and bathe elephants, and ride a bamboo raft down river!
