Lunar New Year Trip to Hailuogou Glacier Park|2 Days 1 Night
📍Itinerary
Chengdu👉Luding Bridge👉Moxi Ancient Town👉Hailuogou Glacier Park👉Chengdu
My first trip of the year🎊 was to Hailuogou Glacier Park in Ganzi, Sichuan, a 4-hour drive from Chengdu.
🌟The main attractions of Hailuogou Glacier Park are distributed across four campsites, at an altitude of 1,900–3,600 meters, making it relatively easy to visit.
💥After entering the park in the morning, take the sightseeing bus to the cable car station at Ganheba (above Camp 3), which takes about an hour. The winding mountain road can cause motion sickness.
🥳After arriving at Ganheba, the altitude is already over 3,000 meters, and you will be greeted by a fairytale-like snowy world! The snow is very thick, and everyone is busy taking photos and playing in the snow. If the weather is clear, you can buy a cable car ticket to Camp 4 at an altitude of 3,600 meters, where you can see the 7,556-meter peak of Gongga Mountain up close!
😈However, due to the fog that day and my feeling a little short of breath, I decided not to go up the mountain and instead went down.
🥳The trails in the park are very easy to walk. I strolled through the snow-covered primeval forest to the visitor center, where I got some hot water for lunch, and then bought a separate ticket to Chengmendong to see the Gongga Mountains.
😈However, I didn't think the 30 yuan was worth it. It only took a few minutes to get there, and the viewing area on the right is very small. There is a snow entertainment area next to it, which is fenced off and requires a ticket. The left side is the return route, where you can choose to walk a long trail or take a bus back.
🥳I was very satisfied with the Banyu Hot Spring in Hailuogou Glacier Park, which is scattered in the forest. The hot spring pools are clean and the temperature is high, making it very comfortable to soak in. All my worries and fatigue disappeared.
🥳On the way, I passed the thrilling Luding Bridge, with huge iron chains as railings. Walking on it, I felt like I was going to fall off at any moment. It was a real test of courage!
🥳Staying overnight in Moxi Ancient Town is very convenient, as it is within walking distance of Hailuogou Glacier Park. The town is small, with only a few streets. I went for a walk in the evening and saw a Gongga Mountain Natural Resources Museum and a New Year performance!
