🏰 Ludwig II’s Castles – Fairy Tale Majesty in Bavaria
📍 Neuschwanstein Castle, Hohenschwangau 1, 87645 Schwangau, Bavaria, Germany (plus Linderhof Palace and Herrenchiemsee nearby)
King Ludwig II of Bavaria is famous for his dreamlike castles, and Neuschwanstein Castle stands as the most iconic — a breathtaking fairy-tale fortress perched on a rugged hill surrounded by alpine forests and lakes. Built in the 19th century, its romantic architecture inspired Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle and captivates visitors with lavish interiors and panoramic views.
Nearby, Linderhof Palace offers a more intimate glimpse into Ludwig’s tastes with ornate rooms and exquisite gardens, while Herrenchiemsee Palace, on an island in Chiemsee Lake, reflects the grandeur of the Palace of Versailles.
🧭 Tips for Visitors:
• Book tickets in advance, especially for Neuschwanstein, to avoid long waits
• Wear comfortable shoes for walking uphill or use shuttle buses
• Visit early morning or late afternoon for fewer crowds and better light
• Ideal for fairy-tale lovers, history enthusiasts, and photographers
• Combine castle visits with hiking in the Bavarian Alps or exploring Füssen town

Egglsee in Ebersberg: A Hidden Gem of Serenity Amidst Forest and Lake
📍Address:
Located in Ebersberg, east of Munich, Egglsee (also known as Egglburger See) is a secret lake cherished even by locals. Free from the hustle and bustle of tourists, this tranquil spot offers the soothing sounds of the forest and occasional bird calls over the water. Here are my personal highlights to help you unlock the hidden charms of this lake:
🗓️Itinerary:
1. **Stroll Along the Forest and Lake Borders**
The lake trail spans approximately 10.5 kilometers and is so flat that even strollers can navigate it gracefully! The path winds through the Ebersberger Forst, a 90-square-kilometer sea of greenery. In spring, wildflowers carpet the ground, while autumn transforms it into a golden tunnel. Fun fact: you might stumble upon remnants of a medieval monastery's waterworks along the way—a must-see for history buffs.
2. **A Secret Haven for Birdwatchers** 💞Why We Recommend It:
This area is an officially recognized bird sanctuary (Vogelfreistätte), home to species like the red-crested pochard and herons. Bring your binoculars and head to the wooden boardwalk by the lake during early morning or dusk for a VIP view of these birds grooming themselves.
3. **🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: Autumn’s Tranquil Charm**
With crisp 13°C air and golden leaves, the lake reflects the surrounding trees like a natural filter—perfect for photography enthusiasts! However, some wetland sections can get muddy, so wear non-slip shoes to avoid an unintended close encounter with the foliage.
4. **Wild Encounters: Spotting Forest Residents**
📍Address: Nearby Ebersberg Wildlife Park (Wildpark) is home to red deer and wild boar families. At dusk, they often wander to the lake for a drink. Remember to keep a safe distance—wild boar tusks are not just for show!
5. **🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: Bavarian Culinary Treats After Relaxation**
Feeling tired? Head to the town’s traditional restaurant "Gasthof" for crispy pork knuckle paired with dark beer. The owner might even share stories about their family recipe. After your meal, take a stroll to the Saint Hubertus Forest Lodge (Forsthaus Hubertus), where the summer beer garden ambiance is simply unbeatable.
**💞Why We Recommend It:** This place feels like a muted paradise, perfect for travelers seeking solitude. Avoid summer weekends and visit on a cool spring or autumn weekday to experience the forest’s most authentic breath. Photography enthusiasts should aim for early morning mist or sunset, when the lake turns into a golden-edged mirror!
**Travel Bonus:** If you have extra time, visit the Ebersberg Castle ruins. From its vantage point, you can overlook the entire forest and lake, instantly understanding why medieval nobles fought to claim this spot!
💰Average Cost: €20-30

Holiday Park GmbH
#themepark
Holiday park was beautiful, but it is mostly made for children.
Not very big, but big enough to spend a whole day there (or two if you have kids and they try every ride on the park) and have fun.
The queues were not very long, except of the geforce expedition where you have to wait much longer due to its popularity.
You can find arcade games in every section of the park which is fun. There are also the games were you win tickets to exchange for items. (these don't really worth it, you can buy these items on your own much cheaper.
