Rating: Xiaoliuqiu’s old hot stir-fry restaurant, known as the state banquet chef’s menu. The signboard is clearly opposite the T-intersection of the FamilyMart convenience store on Lao Cai.
The air-conditioned open environment in the store is very clean and the dining environment is good. The tabletop retains the round table with hot stir-fry characteristics. Most of the dishes are available in small and large portions and are cash transactions.
Honeycomb Shrimp (Small) NT$300 Gaoji’s signature dish, it is said to be the originator of this dish. The honeycomb part consists of plump and large shrimps wrapped in meringue, served with tempura dipping sauce. The overall taste is very similar to eating fried shrimp tempura, but the difference is that the meringue has an extra egg flavor and is crispier in texture. The store recommends eating it while it's hot. Since we were taking takeout to the hotel, the store gave us an outer packaging like a pizza box. Fortunately, Xiaoliuqiu didn't have much time to go back to the hotel and it took about 20 minutes before we started eating. It still tastes crispy and hasn't gone cold.
Boiled shrimp (small) 250 yuan. There are about 12 large white shrimps, each one is big and plump. The shrimp meat is fresh and sweet. Affordable and fresh.
Salt and pepper ghost knife (small) 200 yuan. The portion is quite large, filling a lunch box. The fried fish nuggets have a solid texture similar to chicken but not dry, and the taste is fresh and sweet from the fish.
Stir-fried seasonal vegetables (cabbage) NT$100. Ordinary cabbage stir-fried quickly over high heat, but the heat gives it a full flavor. The seasoning is not too salty either.
Although these dishes were taken to the restaurant to eat, they were not discounted because of the take-out taste. Recommend a menu that is not confusing.
