Qionghai Sea Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Jinlin Sand beach
Jinlin sand beach is a perfect location to enjoy the sun while making sand castles next to the water body. It’s easy to find a parking and there is a shuttle service to the beach. We also enjoyed a group cycle on our way back. Though it was tough to climb, the way down was equally fun.
There is also a Buddhist temple nearby, the sound of prayers are soothing and relaxing.
Suggest to take along a folding tent and plenty of drinking water and snacks with you.
You can also take a walk along the Qionghai sea and enjoy the greenery.

Xichang!! A super detailed two-day and one-night leisurely weekend trip
Don't want to be a special forces soldier, this time it's a more relaxed trip of eating, drinking, and taking photos. Sisters, come and copy the homework~
Day1:
Depart from Chengdu South, arrive in Xichang after 12 noon
Diaoyutai➡️Moonlight Town➡️Treading Waves Boardwalk➡️Jinlin Beach➡️Qionghai 17 Degrees Barbecue
p2-p7 Diaoyutai Moonlight Town Treading Waves Boardwalk
Actually, there's no need to squeeze in crowded places to take photos. I took a taxi to Diaoyutai and found it really crowded, so I slowly walked along the seaside and found that the whole way was very photogenic. Less crowded places are really more photogenic~
p8-p10 Jinlin Beach
A landmark check-in spot, but it's really crowded... Personally, I think it's better to watch the sunset in less crowded places for a better experience.
p11 Qionghai 17 Degrees, the small fishing village's tender fish slice barbecue
Stayed at Qionghai 17 Degrees, there are many snacks and barbecues downstairs of the hotel. Seeing that everyone said that any random choice would not be a mistake, I randomly picked one. Overall, it was a bit spicy but the taste was still good. Personally, I think the grilled white melon, grilled corn, and grilled chicken wings were the most delicious. The grilled fish slices that everyone recommended were just so-so. Of course, you still have to drink Liangshan Snow, which tastes like Jule yogurt haha
Day2: Breakfast Chicken Fire Silk➡️Jianchang Ancient Town
p12 Longan Huili Chicken Fire Silk Nanyuan Store
This is really delicious!! I went to a branch, just in time for the opening. The chicken soup was very fresh and fragrant, and it was the most satisfying meal of the trip.
p13-16 Jianchang Ancient Town, Guoguo Juice
There are not many delicacies in the ancient town, suitable for a light stroll and sunbathing. If you go, you must try Guoguo Juice! This shop is too comfortable. It's a Chinese-style courtyard, and every corner is beautiful. When I went, it had just opened for business. I chose to sit by the window on the second floor, enjoying the breeze and the sun. The quiet courtyard with music and birdsong is very healing. You must try their sugarcane juice, which is freshly squeezed and very sweet!!
Other than that, I quite liked Xu Guokui. The taste of their sweet Guokui is like scones. The oil tea was so-so, a bit greasy.
⚠️Note:
1⃣️Taking a taxi in Xichang is indeed quite expensive. Personally, I think the current weather is not very suitable for renting electric bikes, too sunny and windy. I think the bus is the most ideal mode of transportation. Download 'Yuecheng Bus', which has detailed route planning. There are many bus trips, and the speed is usually faster than estimated, and the arrival time is also much earlier than expected.
2⃣️Now there is a new lake circuit to Jinlin Beach, you can directly get to the 'Jinlin Beach' stop, which is much more convenient than before.
3⃣️Personally, I think there's no need to go to Dashiban Village if you're not taking Yi ethnic group photos.
4⃣️Be sure to do good sun protection and bring sunglasses. The sun is really strong and a bit dazzling, and the wind is very strong. My umbrella was blown away several times.
5⃣️The temperature difference between morning and evening is big, remember to bring a thin coat.
Qionghai Lushan | When you get to Xichang, you must take a trip to Lushan

Winter is the best time to vacation here
Xichang does not have a harsh winter. In early spring, the waves of Qionghai Lake ripple gently. Under Xichang's standard blue sky, flowers bloom abundantly, and trees have already sprouted new buds. Qionghai Wetland Park is the largest urban wetland park in China. Walking on the boardwalks of Qionghai Wetland, every step offers a view, allowing you to experience the romantic spring of Qionghai at 17 degrees.
Qionghai National Tourism Resort
Qionghai, located in Xichang City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, is the second largest freshwater lake in Sichuan Province, formerly known as Qiongchi, and is an early Quaternary rift lake. Its shape is like a snail, stretching 11.5 kilometers from north to south, 5.5 kilometers wide from east to west, with a circumference of 35 kilometers, and a water area of about 30 square kilometers; the average depth of the lake is 14 meters, with the deepest point at 34 meters; the water surface elevation is between 1507.14 and 1509.28 meters; the water level fluctuation is small, with a catchment area of about 27 square kilometers. In terms of water system, it belongs to the Anning River, a tributary of the Yalong River, which is a branch of the Jinsha River, a main stream of the Yangtze River, and the lake water drains into the Anning River.
A tree of golden yellow warms the heart, and the garden is full of wind chimes, drunk with the light of spring
Spring days are busy with flower viewing, time flows by like water, sunlight spreads over mountains and fields, the spring breeze brushes the face, bringing endless tenderness.
Spring blossoms and autumn fruits, summer greens and winter withers, a year's wait turns into this moment of blooming. The Qionghai Wetland Park in spring is the stage for the yellow bellflower trees, clusters and bunches, thousands of golden bellflowers hang from the treetops, intense and bright.
The plum garden attraction of the Qionghai Wetland Park is where the large flowers of the yellow bellflower trees, shaped like trumpets, hang full on the branches, shining against the blue sky and white clouds, forming a splendid and colorful spring scroll.
Whether standing on the pavilion overlooking or strolling on the stone steps looking up, one will be attracted by this bright yellow, feeling endless joy and anticipation in the heart.
Qionghai Wetland Park is full of spring, and the yellow bellflower trees display their beauty. Please come to Qionghai Wetland Park to check in! Let the golden verses of the yellow bellflower trees treasure all the beautiful memories in the bottom of our hearts, accompanying us through a gorgeous spring.
Along the streets, rows of yellow bellflower trees stand tall and graceful, with golden flowers blooming in competition, turning Yuehai Road into a golden 'flower road'. Although it lacks the grandeur of 'the city is full of golden armor', it has the elegance and vivacity of 'flowers seen on branches without leaves'.
On the branches, each 'little wind chime' saturates itself, blooming lively under the sunlight, a large expanse of gold, the clusters of flowers on the trees sway gently with the rhythm of the breeze, each sway overflowing with the enthusiasm of spring.
The bright flowers hang full on the branches, as bright and dazzling as the sun, and in their wanton blooming, they also carry warmth that goes straight to the heart. Look, those bright flower branches extend into the boundless blue sky, like an oil painting by a master, amazing!
Now, large patches of bright yellow light up the city streets and brighten the entire city, becoming a beautiful landscape in Xichang city. Such a beautiful scene does not require posing, a casual snap is a masterpiece!
Flower viewing address: The entire stretch of Yuehai Road
Warm reminder: The yellow bellflower trees are planted on both sides of the road. Please pay attention to safety when viewing flowers and taking pictures, and do not shoot on the road.

Sichuan's Little Switzerland~YeLe Lake
Sichuan's Little Switzerland~YeLe Lake, Buddha said:
Only deep and profound fate
Can make us walk the same path over and over again, and go to the same place over and over again
YeLe Lake, which allows me to visit the same place twice, is one of them. I accidentally saw YeLe Lake on the Internet a few years ago
Indeed, it is a niche attraction that few people know about. It is in a semi-open state
You need to book a homestay in the scenic area in advance to enter the scenic area. There are very few homestays, and only one has good conditions
I like this semi-open state, which greatly controls the flow of people and will not disturb the lives of the original residents
It also enhances the experience of guests staying in the scenic area. The first time I went to YeLe Lake was during the Spring Festival in 2022. When other scenic spots were overcrowded
I experienced charter tourism at YeLe Lake (with winter photos)
The feeling is different in different seasons, it's worth me to travel a long way to see it. Today I saw the latest news about YeLe Lake, which is limited to 100 people per day
You can make an appointment online in advance, and you don't need to book a homestay in the scenic area to enter

🎫Ticket: Free
🚗Self-driving: It takes about 4 hours to drive from Chengdu. There are about ten guesthouses and homestays by the lake, where you can book accommodation or meals in advance. Such a beautiful place, hurry up and take your family and friends to set off! Experience the 20-degree summer of Yele Lake, and let your soul be healed and relaxed!

Xichang Ancient Town Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Xichang Jianchang Ancient City in Sichuan - Simplicity amidst prosperity
Introduction: Jianchang Ancient City, also known as Xichang Ancient City, is located in Xichang, Sichuan Province, and was established in the 20th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1387). During the Ming Dynasty, it was a square shape, with each wall being 1200 meters long, covering an area of about 144 hectares.
Despite the current area being reduced to about 130 hectares, it still retains perfect simplicity amidst today's blooming flowers: The city is centered around four archways, with four streets radiating outwards in a cross shape. The north and south are respectively called North Street and South Street, the west is Cang Street, and the east is Fu Street. There are more than 2400 cultural relics distributed within, including ancient sites, tomb clusters, ancient stone carvings, rock paintings, ancient buildings... Ming Dynasty litterateur Yang Sheng'an, Qing Dynasty calligrapher He Shaoji, and modern educator Huang Yanpei, among others, have all left precious inscriptions here.
Jianchang Ancient City has a history of more than 600 years to date. It has witnessed the development and prosperity of Xichang and is an important cultural heritage of Xichang City, as well as a national 4A-level tourist attraction.
Cost: Free, but various eating and drinking projects inside the ancient city walls are not free, haha.
Transportation: Multiple buses go directly
Suggested visiting time: Half a day
Other suggestions: Climbing up the city walls in the early morning, I found it almost deserted, which was exciting because the place is usually crowded with tourists. I took many rare photos (as shown in the photos), and I hope you can also encounter the scenery with no one around - and be as happy as I was.
Exploring Jianchang Ancient City: Old City with a New Flavor, More Beautiful at Night
The story of Jianchang Ancient City dates back to the Tang and Song dynasties, once a famous military and administrative stronghold. Now, despite renovations, the old city walls, gates, and those ancient houses and shops all exude a strong sense of history.
The renovated old city may seem a bit messy and increasingly commercialized, but it's still quite interesting. Although some renovations have sparked much debate, if you're looking for a place to take photos and make memories, Jianchang Ancient City is definitely worth a visit. Especially after 10 p.m., when there are fewer people, the scenery is beautiful, and the lighting is good, it's perfect for taking pictures.
If you plan to stay overnight in the ancient city, 'Thousand Miles Solo Rider Hotel' is recommended. This niche hotel perfectly integrates with the local style, offering a unique accommodation experience.
The Underrated Ancient City | Xichang Jianchang Ancient City
We love a city because of its history and culture. Jianchang Ancient City is a place with historical connotations, scale, and beauty. It has come from more than six hundred years ago, quiet yet bustling, mundane yet mysterious. Every brick, tile, and wall here is marked with the traces of history, and you will surely grow to love it once you are here.
Located in the old town of Xichang, Jianchang Ancient City was an important node on the 'Southern Silk Road' and is a concentration area of the 'ultimate Xichang' elements. The fan-shaped city, built during the Ming and Qing dynasties, is centered on a cross-axis with four gates for defense, 'warding off external threats and ensuring internal security.' Centered around four archways, with straight streets and winding alleys, the roads crisscross each other. The city is dotted with ancient streets, ruins, stone carvings, and buildings, with more than 2,400 cultural relics distributed, earning it the reputation of one of 'China's Top Ten Most Beautiful Ancient Cities.'
The ancient city is located in the urban area, with convenient food, accommodation, and transportation, no entrance fee, and particularly beautiful night views in the evening.
A Hidden Gem in Western Sichuan More Beautiful Than Lugu Lake—Xichang
In Sichuan, there is a secret small city known as "Little Spring City," which attracts countless Sichuanese to escape the cold when winter arrives🤩, and that is Xichang!! This place is known as Sichuan's backyard💐, with warm winters and cool summers, spring-like all year round. Come to this treasure of a small city and bask in the sun🕶~
Qionghai
Dali has Erhai, and the small city has Qionghai. Qionghai is not a sea, but it has the vastness and gentleness of the sea🌊. On every clear day, the lake is as blue as the sea, the white sandy beaches sparkle, and the dense coconut trees sway in the wind🌴. Whether boating on the lake or cycling around it🚴, it's equally pleasant and leisurely. The area is also rich in lake delicacies such as fish, shrimp, and crabs🦀, which you can enjoy at the lakeside restaurants~
💡When visiting Qionghai, it is recommended to stay overnight, boat on the lake, fish by the shore, eat vegetarian meals in Qinglong Temple, enjoy lake delicacies in the fishing village, and play mahjong to experience the leisurely life of the locals.
Lushan
Next to Qionghai is Lushan, known as the "Secret of Southern Sichuan," and together with Qionghai, they form one of the major scenic areas in southwestern Sichuan🔥. Lushan is home to more than ten ancient temples built during the Han, Tang, Ming, and Qing dynasties, belonging to Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism🎞. It is bordered by the mirror-like Qionghai to the east, the winding and beautiful Anning River to the west, the historic city of Xichang to the north, and the towering Luoji Mountain to the south.
💡There are wild monkeys on Lushan, so try not to carry drinks and food in your hands, and it's better to carry a dark-colored backpack~
Luoji Mountain
When visiting Xichang in autumn and winter, you must not miss Luoji Mountain⛰. You can come for a hot spring soak or go hiking, and in winter, there will be vast white snow. In addition, Luoji Mountain is also a "Quaternary Ancient Glacier" museum, with ancient glacial relics scattered throughout. Climbing to the top of the mountain to overlook the world's largest ancient glacial trough is a major highlight👍, and along the way, there are strange magma caves, "Immortal's Cave."
💡The only way to visit Luoji Mountain is to take a sightseeing bus at the entrance of the scenic area, then take a cable car directly to Heilongtan🚡, and walk along the lakeside plank road to the opposite shore.
Jianchang Ancient City
This place encapsulates over 600 years of history, like a unique business card of Xichang📇. During the day, the ancient city bus shuttles between the walls of history; at night, the lights outline the contours of the ancient city, where past and present wonderfully merge✨. When the lights come on, the big red lanterns light up the entire ancient city🏮, the city walls are towering, the old trees are swaying, and the stone roads are uneven, creating a grand and unique atmosphere, as if you are in a time tunnel💫.
💡Sunset and the moment when the lights are first lit are great times for photography!
For those who fear the cold, consider picking a weekend to say goodbye to the chill and spend a few lazy days here🎈~
