#japanhotel Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto is a very new hotel, probably only a thousand dollars a night, the lobby floor also has a pantry with a microwave, very convenient to bring your own food heating! There is also a washing machine to wash clothes.

Marriott Hotels is one of the world's largest hotel groups. The Fairfield by Marriott Kyoto Kyotanba is a part of the Fairfield by Marriott Roadside Station Project, which is located next to a roadside station in Kyotanba, Kyoto. The Kyotanba Ajimu no Sato roadside station in front of the hotel is open until 8pm, making it convenient for buying ingredients and meals. (As it is located at a service area on the expressway, there are no shops nearby.) The hotel is designed to encourage people to use the roadside station hotel as a base to explore the area and discover its charms for themselves, so the facility itself is very simple. There is no hot spring, and no restaurants or other eateries. There is basically no convenience store (though they did sell water and drinks like Smirnoff). However, it is very functional and practical. It has high-speed WiFi, a spacious and comfortable shared lounge, and the free coffee server and drinks (instant miso soup, tea, etc.) are also a nice touch. Located in Kyotanba-cho on the outskirts of Kyoto City, Shitsumi Shorakuko is the former Shitsumi Elementary School, which sadly closed at the end of March 2011. Even after it was closed, the strong wishes of the local residents allowed the school building to remain open, and it has been reborn as a community space for the area. Everything about the old wooden school building is Showa retro, and exudes sepia-toned nostalgia. Pandozo Cafe is an Italian cafe located in such an abandoned school building. The old home economics kitchen has been renovated and a full-scale pizza oven has been installed. The blackboard and desks are still there, but it is now a very popular pizza restaurant with long lines at lunchtime, even though it is small. The school attendance book familiar to Japanese people has been transformed into a menu. All of the freshly baked pizzas made with local ingredients are exquisite. In particular, the "Crimame Formaggi", which is luxuriously topped with chestnuts and black beans, a specialty of Kyotanba, and the "Ortolana", which uses plenty of colorful seasonal vegetables, were so delicious that I couldn't help but groan! I went to the Fairfield by Marriott Kyotango, which is adjacent to a roadside station where you can stay with your pet. The roadside station, Kyotango Ajiyume no Sato, is right in front of the hotel, so there was no problem with food. The local product sales corner is open from 6:00 to 21:00, so you can enjoy the roadside station to your heart's content. It's located next to the highway, so it was very convenient for a road trip. The pet-friendly rooms were also very clean. You will need a cage to keep your pet's face hidden when moving around the building.
