Hedo Cape: A Hidden Gem Surrounded by Stunning Scenery and Nature
When I visited Hedo Cape in Okinawa, I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the expansive blue sea and sky. Standing at the tip of the cape, I felt as if I were at the edge of the world, with the sound of the waves and the whisper of the wind soothing my soul. The surrounding nature is untouched, and the color of the sea viewed from the cape is particularly vivid. On clear days, you can enjoy a breathtaking view where the sea and sky blend into one. The landscape, with its rugged rocky terrain, truly showcases the power of nature and leaves a lasting impression. It is a place that offers tranquility and awe to its visitors, a hidden treasure of Okinawa.
☾︎Okinawa☽︎ The giant rock formations created by nature are a must-see.

Choose from four trekking courses from the vast forest, and the staff will tell you the estimated time for each one.
You can enjoy dynamic scenery such as strange rocks, giant banyan trees, and mountaintops overlooking the ocean.ᐟ.ᐟ
If you love nature, be sure to check it out! It's a view that feels like it's not Japan✨️
Also, there is a reincarnation stone on the trekking course, and it is said that if you pass through it three times, you will be reborn, so I passed through it three times and was reborn👶🏻💕lol

About 2.5 hours by car from Naha,
Daisekirinzan is located in the northernmost part of Okinawa Island.
It is a place that is often heard as a tourist spot in Okinawa,
but it seems that not many people actually visit.
Rather than stopping by on the way to sightseeing,
it is a place that should be visited as a light hike.
When you actually climb it, it is a more challenging hike than you would imagine.
You just keep climbing the steep terrain.
As the name Daisekirinzan suggests,
you walk along a path filled with rugged stones of unusual shapes,
and a magnificent banyan tree appears among the subtropical plants.
You can experience a mystical and exotic feeling that is different from the usual Japanese hikes.
You should wear sneakers and don't forget to stay hydrated.
This is a spot that you should visit in the winter.

Near Cape Hedo, Northern Okinawa Main Island: Kayauchi Banta.
Just a 5-minute drive from Cape Hedo, the northernmost tip of Okinawa Main Island.
Past the Ohayashi Stone Mountain, you'll find 'Kayauchi Banta.'
In Okinawan dialect, 'Banta' means cliff.
It's an 80-meter-high sheer cliff, and you can see the Ginama Fishing Port below 👀
The name comes from the fact that when bundled thatch is thrown off the cliff, it gets battered by the wind and scatters.
The road that passes by Kayauchi Banta is called 'Modoru Michi' (Return Road).
In the past, only one person could pass through this road, making it difficult to travel from the Ginama settlement to the Hedo settlement.
However, the children of the Ginama settlement had to go to school in the Hedo settlement, climbing the 'Return Road.'
Many children couldn't attend school because it was difficult to commute to Hokugoku Elementary School (formerly Hedo Elementary School), which has since been closed.
About 100 years ago, the principal who was assigned to Hedo Elementary School noticed the low number of students attending and investigated the cause.
The principal realized that the 'Return Road' was the reason children couldn't come to school and called on the villagers to widen the road, making it easier for people to travel.
When driving, it is recommended to go from near Cape Hedo.
There are signs near the Ginama Fishing Port, but be cautious of oncoming traffic as you climb the narrow mountain road.
📍: Kayauchi Banta
🚗: About 3 hours by car from Naha Airport

※ It is recommended to go by car ✨

A must-see for those who are tired of ordinary trips to the main island of Okinawa!
Yanbaru, the northernmost part of Okinawa, is a wonderful place full of nature where traditional life still remains.
The beauty of the sea, the greatness of the mountains, the warmth of the people,
No matter how many times you go, it's a wonderful area that makes you want to go back again and again.
At night, several izakayas and snack bars will welcome you.
The downside is that it's difficult to get there 😅
Driving along Route 58 in a rental car is a detox in itself 🥰
You can also stop by any place that catches your eye!
If you ask the locals, they might take you to some nice places that aren't touristy 😉
First, go to Kunigami Village and talk to the villagers.
Once you get hooked, you won't be able to get out. A wonderful stay in Yanbaru awaits you ✅
A wonderful world will open up to you in an instant 🌎

Yanbaru National Park, one of the two national parks in Okinawa
'Yanbaru' is said to be an Okinawan dialect that means a forested mountain.
Overall, there are low mountains, and
when you go inside, there are many huge trees and rare rocks.

Cape Hedo
#okinawatrip Cape Hedo stands as a captivating landmark at the northern tip of Okinawa, Japan. Renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views, the cape offers a mesmerizing fusion of rugged cliffs, deep blue seas, and expansive skies. The journey to Cape Hedo is an adventure in itself, with winding roads that lead to this remote destination, providing glimpses of Okinawa's scenic countryside along the way.
Upon reaching the cape, visitors are greeted by a striking monument marking the point where the Pacific Ocean and East China Sea converge. The sheer cliffs create a dramatic backdrop against the azure waters, making it a photographer's paradise. The sense of isolation and the distant echoes of waves crashing against the rocks contribute to an awe-inspiring atmosphere.
Cape Hedo also serves as a gateway to explore the untamed wilderness of Yanbaru Forest, with hiking trails leading to hidden gems within the surrounding nature. The expansive views from the observation deck allow visitors to appreciate the vastness of the ocean and the unique geography of this northernmost point in Okinawa.
While the journey to Cape Hedo may require a bit of time and effort, the unparalleled beauty and tranquility make it a worthwhile pilgrimage for those seeking a connection with nature and a sense of awe-inspiring solitude.
Yanbaru National Park
#okinawatrip Yanbaru National Park was one of the biggest reasons for us to visit the north part of Okinawa island.
The park is amazing and we had a great time climbing the mountain area around the Yonaha mountain , the tallest mountain of the Okinawa main island.
Little bit disappointing was that the top of the mountain doesn’t have any sign about reaching the absolute top and you can get easily confused whether you already climbed the top or not.
Otherwise the place is so much fun and there are many things worth visiting in the National park other than Yonaha, for example famous waterfalls and others.

Ride the W-A-V-E at Cape Hedo Okinawa
If you are in Okinawa, please make a trip down to Cape Hedo for the magnificent views, scenery and marvel at the beauty flower waves!
Yes, it is a tad difficult to make a trip via public transport if you don't self drive in Okinawa but this is worth the effort to come by!
Even though the day that I went happened to be gloomy but it didn't take away the beauty of this area at all. Instead I find that there's another form of beauty of this place against the gloomy skies.
And because it was gloomy, the waves were strong, it was simply thereupeutic looking at the waves came crashing through the rocks over and over again. Doesn't it look like one big giant bathtub...?

This seaside hotel in Okinawa is the Okuma Private Beach & Resort (Okinawa Beach Resort in Okinawa), which is close to the sea in the country. The hotel is always in a gray environment with palm trees and long private white sand beaches. At any time, you can go to a wave of styling photos ~
Okuma hotel's food is also very recommended, a total of 6 restaurants have their own flavor, Japanese, home cooking, teppanyaki and sunset BBQ are awesome. In the evening, I ate the Ryukyu Imperial Dietary Set meal and the Saga Niu Shou Hi-Sushi, which features seasonal dishes and fresh seasonal ingredients. The Saga beef tastes nothing. Come to Okinawa to see the sea and want to eat food, live in Okuma will never regret ~
