The Taipin
The Taiping Old Train Track Trek is a route full of natural scenery and nostalgia, surrounded by landscapes of mountains and water, prairie wetlands, and trees. The entire trekking route is about 10 kilometers, starting from New Junction, Taiping, and can walk all the way to the old railway station of Bukit Berapit, and then to the nearby famous mountains and mosques. This trip is especially suitable for those who like nature and historical atmosphere, and there are many beautiful places to take pictures along the way.

Starting from Taiping Hill (34000 Taiping, Perak), head all the way towards the former Bukit Berapit Old Railway Station site (34850 Changkat Jering). Take a walk through the grassland wetlands and enjoy the sunny views of nature, stopping on the way to Masjid Kampung Pauh (Kampong Pauh, 34850 Changkat Jering) to feel the local culture. At the end you can choose to continue walking to Gunung Pondok (Kampung Padang Rengas, 33700 Padang Rengas), which is very healing to explore more views surrounded by mountains and trees.

1. Old railway tracks: Every step is full of historical memories, the old sections with grassy wetlands are great for photography.

🎒 Trip Tips:
- The walking distance is a full 10 kilometers, it is recommended to wear sweat-wicking, quick-drying sportswear pants, bring enough water and snacks.
- Depart at 7:00 am, avoid the hot hours and have more time to slowly enjoy the scenery along the way.
- It is recommended to bring your own sunscreen and hat, as there is plenty of sunshine along the way, even the indoor scenery is dominated by natural light.
- There are not too many shops along the way, not many resupply points, prepare the needed supplies ahead of time.
- Summer is prone to rain, so remember to bring rain gear and keep your communications safe, especially when going to Gunung Pondok.

- There are some areas along the way where the grass is high and wet and heavy, beware of mosquitoes, it is recommended to apply mosquito repellent.
