I joined a 15-hour round-trip day tour from South Beach, which includes hotel pickup. The bus ride itself takes about 4.5 hours each way, so it’s a long but manageable one-day adventure. It is the southernmost city in the continental United States, across the sea from Cuba, and is also the southern starting point of U.S. Highway 1. Key West is a coral reef island with flat terrain. Because the local tidal range is not large, the land and sea levels are almost at the same level, and it feels a bit like a city floating on the sea. In particular, there are about 100 miles of cross-sea bridges built through a series of islands and reefs. It is said that there are 42 bridges. The most famous one is the "Seven Mile Bridge", which is the filming location for many movies. The unique islands, reefs, roads and bridges form a beautiful marine landscape, which is also known as the "Eighth Wonder of the World". (The tour guide did come, but I couldn't understand a word...) The main reason for visiting is to see the six-toed cats. I realized that it's not that I don't like cats, but I don't like skinny animals. Chubby cats are quite cute. There are really a lot of cats... They are specially raised, and several of them really have six toes! There are also normal five-toed cats. WOW, amazing~ ● Lighthouse Address: 938 Whitehead St Who knew that it would close at 16:00... So we couldn't go up to the lighthouse to take a look.
