[Hokkaido: Kamifurano] Enjoy the scenery from a tractor bus at Flowerland Kamifurano
Hokkaido in the summer is filled with beautiful flower fields. Flowerland Kamifurano previously required an admission fee, but now it is free. It is a hidden gem with relatively few people. The flower fields seen from the tractor bus were as beautiful as a painting. Highly recommended for those who want to spend a relaxing time! Visiting date: July 2024

[Hokkaido: Kamifurano] Hokkaido summer gourmet you must try at least once!
A summer-only gourmet treat that is always featured in Hokkaido guidebooks, half a melon topped with soft serve ice cream! It is sold at various tourist spots, but here at Flowerland Kamifurano you can eat half a melon at a reasonable price. (It's about half the price of a certain tourist spot.) Furano melons are very sweet and recommended for those looking for a luxurious summer gourmet treat! !

Lavender wedding photo spot - Hinode Park
Hinode Park located on Kamifurano and the small hills
In summer, it is full of lavender and various flowers 🌼🌸🌺🪷🪻🌹🌷
The whole park is full of purple 🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻
Very beautiful
There are not as many tourists as Tomita Farm
It allows us to slowly travel and check in
Many people take wedding photos here 👰♀️
The environment is really suitable for pre-wedding photography
You can also overlook Mount Tokachi from the top of the mountain
It's rare that the weather is nice today
You can see Tokachidake very clearly
It’s not just about watching the sunrise
You can also watch the sunset there
It's really a worthwhile attraction 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Farm Tomita
Every year from June to September, Hokkaido is filled with tourists who come to see the beauty of the lavender fields that are in full bloom, displaying bright colors all over the city, especially at Farm Tomita, where lavender is grown beautifully. If you go there, don't miss trying the lavender ice cream.

Running around in a field of “Lavender”
The familiar scent of lavender. Has anyone ever seen a lavender plant? I've heard of and used the scent of lavender, but I've never seen a lavender plant before. Today, I came to Hokkaido, so I took the opportunity to stop by "Farm Tomita", which is said to have a large lavender field and is the most beautiful flower viewing spot in Hokkaido.
💐Farm Tomita has many flower zones for us to visit, but the highlight here is the lavender field, which is very large. The flowers are brightly colored, the scent of lavender is alluring, and the wind blows against your body. Wow, being in the middle of a mass of flowers with a gentle breeze makes you feel so good, you can't describe it. You feel relieved and receive so much positive energy.
For coming, I recommend planning first which flower zones you want to see. Otherwise, you'll get lost because Farm Tomita is a very large area. If you want to walk through every flower field, it might take a day.
And what you can't miss is the "Lavender Ice Cream", which is a specialty here. I have to say that when you get here, you have to have some!! As for me, I didn't miss it. I've already had 3 😋

Girls' trip to Hokkaido!
This roller coaster road features roughly 2.5km of steep ups and downs.
While there's nothing around, the expansive scenery, truly representative of Hokkaido, is captivating.
While there's little traffic, we were able to take photos, but we recommend taking photos in a location that won't get in the way of other vehicles.
The slope is steep, so be mindful of blind spots.
While we enjoyed the drive, we also had a blast taking photos. 📷✨
If you have a tripod, it's a great way to capture a variety of photos!

Furano highly recommended guesthouse
I highly recommend the single-family villa we stayed in Furano for the first two nights of our trip to Hokkaido.
The cost was about NT$16,000 per person per night.
The house was very new and super clean, with a fully equipped kitchen.
The rooms were spacious, of course; even our smallest room had ample luggage space and a double sofa...
I didn't expect drawing rooms and playing rock-paper-scissors to see who would have to carry the luggage would be so exciting, hahaha!
There's also a tatami room for games and relaxation (loud snorers can get a single room).
The whole house was so big that the kids could play hide-and-seek and still not be able to find us.
There's a supermarket and convenience store just a two-minute drive away, which is incredibly convenient. It's perfect for shopping, cooking, and gatherings.
The nearby "Yakiniku Show" restaurant is incredibly delicious and affordable! 👍 The meat and rice balls are both delicious! 🤤
I really want to come back for a vacation if I have the chance! Perfect for a large group 👍
There were 16 of us in total, so we had four quad rooms and one tatami room.

Nakanishi Sakuranbo Orchards in Hokkaido's Ashibetsu City is a cherry orchard with a rustic feel. From late June to mid-August, they offer an all-you-can-eat cherry orchard at affordable prices (approximately 1,000–1,100 yen for adults). They offer their own original "Papul" variety, which is sweet, rich, and rich in iron and beta-carotene, as well as the rare "Heiwa Nishiki," a Hokkaido-exclusive variety. The orchard is meticulously maintained, with small trees making it easy for children and adults to pick cherries, and a large canopy for rainy days. The atmosphere is perfect for families and friends to relax and enjoy freshly picked cherries.

Strolling and relaxing in Hokkaido
Lake Shikotsu is so beautiful that you'll want to walk around more, and don't miss the crispy cream puffs. At Lake Toya, you can take a boat ride and buy shrimp crackers to feed the birds—it's so much fun! The Ferris wheel and art museum are must-visits, offering stunning views. Shikisai-no-Oka requires an admission fee but is totally worth it. If you don't feel like walking, you can rent a golf cart to drive around yourself. Asahiyama Zoo is super popular, and the penguins are absolutely adorable 🥰

Biei's Gardens vs. Asahidake's Wildflowers
The Biei region is often referred to as a paradise of flowers and trees. Famous spots like Mild Seven Hill, Christmas Tree, Ken and Mary's Tree, Shikisai-no-Oka, and Farm Tomita are enough to make anyone's heart flutter just by hearing their names. However, among these, I believe the highlight is the wildflowers of Asahidake. The last photos showcase the wildflowers of Asahidake. When I visited last April, there was nothing but snow, but this time, Asahidake has gifted us with an abundance of wildflowers.
Unlike the meticulously maintained gardens like Shikisai-no-Oka or Farm Tomita, Asahidake offers a different experience. Be sure to visit!
Address:
Atmosphere/Facilities: Endless fields of flowers wherever you look. If these are truly untouched wildflowers, the experience becomes even more moving.
Key Points: The well-maintained Shikisai-no-Oka and the wildflowers of Asahidake.
Average Price Per Person: Shikisai-no-Oka - 500 yen; Asahidake Ropeway - 3,500 yen (off-season price: 2,600 yen).
Rating: If you have the chance to see it, consider Asahidake as the default choice.

Live in the fairy tale world of Biei✨ | Super dreamy accommodation recommendation
This time I came to Biei, Hokkaido, and stayed in this country-style cottage. It really felt like walking into a fairy tale world! There is thick white snow outside. When you open the window, you can see a quiet and beautiful snow scene, as if time has slowed down. The interior is very warm and cozy, the wooden decoration makes people feel particularly relaxed, and the heating is just right, so even if it is cold outside, it is still warm inside. The food here is also surprising. The dishes made with local ingredients are fresh and delicious, especially the dinner. Every bite is full of happiness. This accommodation experience is really satisfactory, and it is recommended to travelers who want to enjoy the quiet snow country style!

[Hokkaido] A tour around photogenic spots
#0 yen trip February 2025
Weather: Sunny 23/33℃
No humidity, dry heat
Transportation: Rental car
▼ Biei
Shikisai no Oka
Time required: 30 minutes
Parking fee: 500 yen
Admission fee: 500 yen
Reservation: No need
Parking is free if you eat at "Udon Restaurant Mugisai no Oka" across the street. You can buy your admission ticket at the ticket machine at the entrance (I think it was cash only). I left the park after 9:00, but tourists were flooding in from that time.
▼ Furano
① Balloon experience
Access: 18 Kitanomine-cho, Furano City
Time required: 15-20 minutes
Reservation: I made a reservation in advance, but it seemed like I could experience it without a reservation, probably because it was early on a Sunday morning.
② Farm Tomita
Admission fee/parking fee: Free
Spending time: 50 minutes
Reservation: No need
The number of people increases from this time. The nearby roads are congested, but the parking lot is large. People were moving fast, so we didn't have to wait long. The lavender soft serve and melon slices were especially delicious. It's quite large, so if you want to see it properly, it will take a while.
▼Hakodate
① Night view of Mt. Hakodate
Access: Hakodate Station - Mt. Hakodate Summit Bus - Route 1 Mt. Hakodate Climbing Bus, bus stop number 4 (bus stop on the left after exiting Hakodate Station)
Instead of using the Mt. Hakodate Ropeway, take the bus that goes from Hakodate Station to the summit for a limited time. It's cheap at 500 yen one way, and you can use an IC card. No reservation is required, so it's easy to use.
I recommend sitting on the right on the way there and the left on the way back.
They drive with the interior darkened, they guide you while driving, and they even stop at the view points.
② Goryokaku Tower
Buy tickets at the 7-Eleven near the Jujigai bus stop.
You can purchase them for 900 yen instead of 1000 yen.
It's 100 yen cheaper, and there's quite a line at the tower counter, so it's better to buy a ticket in advance. You can buy it at most convenience stores on the day. There is a large souvenir shop on the first floor.
③Hachimanzaka
The sunlight filtering through the trees is very beautiful. There are also many hydrangeas blooming along the way, so you can take a walk in a beautiful landscape.

On the day we planned to go to Furano, it rained heavily from the morning.
We were also planning to stay at a hotel there, so we couldn't change our plans...😓
A place I found on SNS and wanted to go to
A gentle road, then a sudden drop, then a sudden rise!!
It's a roller coaster road.
I took the photo in the heavy rain, so visibility was poor and this was the limit.
It is difficult to find even with a car navigation system, so it may be easier to get there from National Route 237, which runs from Biei to Furano, in the direction of JR Mibaushi Station.
