Yamashiro Onsen Old General Bath
There are two public baths in Yamashiro Onsen, "Soyu" and "Kosoyu".
Two old-fashioned public baths with impressive wood and stained glass.
Kosoyu is a restoration of the public baths from the Meiji period, and not only the exterior and interior have been recreated, but also the bathing method of the time, called "yuami", which simply involves soaking in the hot spring.
The rest area on the second floor and the Kutani ware tiles on the floor and walls of the bathroom have also been restored to their original state.
The bathroom was cuter than I expected, but the water was quite hot, so I could only stay in it for 5 to 10 minutes!
After warming up, I went to the rest area on the second floor to cool off with a fan and drink ice-cold water for a blissful moment.
It was a great spot to visit.
It was free if you were staying at Hoshino Resorts Kai Kaga, which is right in front of it.
