Looking for a spontaneous hot spring getaway? Look no further than Kaga! This town sees very few international tourists, making it feel like a hidden gem forgotten by time. Remember to arrive before 3pm, or you'll miss out on the local ramen shops – and you don't want to miss that! 🌿The entire town is incredibly peaceful, as if time itself slows down here. Just steps from the hotel is the ancient Kaga Onsenkyo, where you can enjoy the hot springs for free in your hotel yukata. Across the street is the main public bathhouse, always bustling with locals looking to unwind. There's also a foot bath nearby, but the water was a bit too hot for my liking. After just five minutes of strolling, the town's tranquility had me longing to return to the hotel and relax. 🏨I stayed at Hoshino Resorts KAI Kaga. While I've had good experiences with Hoshino Resorts in the past, this one was a bit underwhelming. The public bathing area was disappointingly small, and the private onsen in my room offered no view. The two included meals, priced at 800 RMB, were also a letdown. I heard they serve crab in the winter, but currently, only beef and duck were available, which was a shame. 🌄Despite these shortcomings, Kaga's tranquility and the soothing hot springs made for a memorable experience.
