This time, I arranged half a day to explore Madaba in Jordan. This small town is famous for its exquisite mosaic art and is known as the 'City of Mosaics'. The first stop was St. George’s Church, which houses the oldest map of the Middle East in the world—the Madaba Map. This mosaic map, depicting the Holy Land in the 6th century AD, is an important artifact for understanding ancient geography. Although parts of it have been damaged, you can still clearly see details such as Jerusalem and the Jordan River, which is very impressive. Next, we went to the Madaba Archaeological Park, which showcases more well-preserved mosaic floors, as well as Roman and Byzantine ruins, giving a sense of the city's historical depth. Finally, we walked through the alleys of the old town, admired local handicrafts, enjoyed the leisurely atmosphere, and had a traditional Jordanian meal. Madaba may be small, but its rich cultural heritage and unique art make it well worth a visit!

A visit to Jordan is incomplete without exploring the ancient city of Jerash, one of the most well-preserved Roman cities, often referred to as the 'Pompeii of the Middle East.' Stepping into this site feels like traveling back in time to a glorious era thousands of years ago. Hadrian's Arch is the most striking landmark at the entrance. This 13-meter-high arch was built to commemorate the visit of Roman Emperor Hadrian. Passing through the arch, I was greeted by the Oval Plaza, a unique oval-shaped square surrounded by a colonnade, which remains a symbol of Jerash's grandeur. Walking along the Cardo Maximus, the Roman columns tower on both sides, and the worn stone pavement evokes images of the bustling markets and shops that once thrived here. The well-preserved South and North Theaters are also impressive, with the South Theater boasting excellent acoustics, allowing voices from the stage to be heard clearly in the audience seats. This trip to Jerash gave me a profound appreciation for the scale and splendor of ancient Roman cities, and it is no wonder that it is considered one of Jordan's most astonishing archaeological sites!

I had the chance to visit Mount Nebo during my trip to Jordan🇯🇴, and while it was a bit cloudy when I went, the views were still impressive. On clearer days, you can see the Dead Sea, the Jordan River, and even the skyline of Jerusalem from the mountaintop! 🌄 Historically, Mount Nebo holds immense significance as it is traditionally believed to be the site where Moses viewed the Promised Land before his death. After asking some locals, they suggested me to go to public beach instead of going to hotel or resort. Together with a local, we found this beach which was very clean, has few visitors only, and water is very clear. There were some wood huts rented by locals. Just sooo beautiful. We were asked to pay some money which was negotiable and we were given one big cup of mud. It is a great experience because I think this is one of hidden gems in Dead Sea, Jordan.
