All Moments About Jonker
A must visit historical sites of Malacca
These two historical places are part of my selection visit to Malacca. There are many interesting places that bring many tourists around the world to come over, but I chose these two as a must visit in Malacca, Malaysia.
First of all, let me introduce Dr Gan Boon Leong, a local hero from Malacca representing Malaysia body builder where he is gaining the prestige title as Mr Universe, Mr Asia, Mr Malaysia and Mr Melaka respectively. Due to his achievement, he was honored the title as Datuk Wira. His metal sculpture statue was display at the main entrance in house at Jonker Walk. Boon Leong, popularly known as “Mr Strong”, was Malaysia’s “father of bodybuilding” and former state MCA chief. Born in 1937 - 2022.
Secondly, introducing one of the oldest Buddhist Temples in Malacca well known to locals for its 2002 UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage Awards. This Merits Award was honored to Cheng Hoon Teng Temple in Malacca city. Location : 25, Jalan Tokong, Kampung Dua, 75200 Melaka, Malaysia
Must visit the World Heritage Park
#malaka I must say that if anyone come to Malacca especially to go to Jonker Street, one must not miss to visit this place; Jonker Walk World Heritage Park or Taman Warisan Dunia Jonker Walk ! 🤩
👉🏻 There is an iconic statue flexing muscle which is statue of Datuk Wira Gan Boon Leong, the prominent ex body-builder in Malaysia. He was the Chairman of Jonker Walk whereby was entrusted by the State government to preserve tradition and promoting culture of multiracial living in Jonker street although most were Chinese and Baba Nyonya descendants.
👉🏻 The park was well maintained, clean, have gardens and a nice ambience. It was also recognized by UNESCO as the World Heritage Park.
✅ Worth for a short visit! Must drop by after hassling through the crowds in Jonker street at night.

Malaka Market
Greeted by a lot of street foods in Jonker Walk,#malaka #Jonker after having a lot of walk from St John hill to museum penjara and all the way towards here before heading to Ibis Hotel. The trip was amazing within more than 8 hours upon arrival.
Its a very nice place to discover or can be said as food street heaven. Greeted with malay kueh in entrance, bought egg 3 for RM 20 (I regretted it 🥲), passed by souvenir and other shops.
This place remind me of night market in Hongkong and Petaling in KL. This place can be said as Malaka Chinatown. Worth to discover? YES! for street food adventure.
Visit The Orangutan House during my trip
#malaka Visit The Orangutan House in Jonker street of Malacca. The original Orangutan house is a gallery and workshop of a talented artist Charles Cham.
In this quirky shop and gallery, you can find variety of artist selling their unique items such as local designed t-shirt, Orangutan face painting, trinkets and keychain as souvenirs, and many other adorable merchandise.
This quirky shop and gallery is nearby the main Jonker street and you can also stroll along the Malacca river and street arts nearby. Also, few new cafes nearby serving delicious and hot foods & coffees.

JONKER WALK NIGHT MARKET!
WE LOVE COMING TO MELAKA FOR A HOLIDAY AND EVERY TIME WE COME TO MELAKA, WE WILL NEVER MISS JONKER WALK NIGHT MARKET. WE WOULD EITHER TAKE A COLOURFUL LIGHTED TRISHAW TO JONKER WALK OR JUST WALK BY THE SIDE OF MELAKA RIVER. I PERSONALLY LOVE TAKING A WALK BY THE RIVERSIDE FROM THE HOTEL AS THE RIVER IS BEAUTIFUL WITH COLOURFUL LIGHTS ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT WHEN THE LIGHTS COME ALIVE. FURTHERMORE, THE RIVER ITSELF IS CLEAN.
IF WE ARE TIRED FROM WALKING, WE CAN SIT ON ONE OF THE BENCHES OR JUST LEPAK AT ONE OF THE CAFES SIPPING DRINKS WHILE LOOKING AT THE PASSERSBY.
UPON ENTERING JONKER WALK, WE WILL BE GREETED BY A STALL SELLING COCONUT WATER/JUICE TO COCONUT SHAKE. YOU COULD FIND FRIDGE MAGNETS,SOUVENIRS, SNACKS, HATS, TOYS, DRINKS, FOODS AND VARIOUS OTHERS BEING SOLD HERE.
THE NIGHT MARKET WILL BE CLOSED BY 10.30PM.
BEFORE LEAVING, WE TRIED THE PANIPURI, THE DESSERT AND THE ASAM PEDAS WHICH ARE NOT BAD.
IN SHORT, OUR TRIP TO JONKER WALK NIGHT MARKET IS WORTH TO REMEBER!

Jonker Street Night Walk
A popular place to visit in melacca is the junker Street in melaka, Malaysia located at Jalan Hang Jebat, 75200 Melaka. You will notice if you go in the daylight and after sunset the difference, as during the day this place is crowded with cars and people at times there will even be a traffic jam due to the narrow one way streets of jonker. But in the night its a whole new different story.
If you do want to take nice photos of the architectural structure without cars and the people, definitely recommended to go at night. It's peace and quiet accept when the jonker night mark opens on weekends. You will be able to see the Chinese architectures mixed with pernanakan influence dating all the way back to the 17th centuries.
Also, don't forget to try one of these chendol stores that open late, I can't really remember the name but it's one of the very few stores that stays open.

Bustling with heritage
I will never grow weary of visiting Melaka. Wow, there's a lot to discover! Jonker Street in particular never gets old, and I've been there eight times. The markets are fascinating in the morning and at night. Whenever I visit the night markets, new stalls with delicious and unique cuisine and experiences that are unavailable in Singapore crop up. I adore it.
Malacca Jonker street night market
Jonker street night market Malacca, lots of great stalls with local food, fruit shakes, practical items, toys and more. Well located and very large with a little something for everyone. Plenty of opportunities to get souvenirs to take home. Well organized and not too busy with plenty of space to move around. Highly recommended to anyone in the area when it is on.

#2024wish Two photos which I captured without any attention during my visit to Malacca on 26/12/2023 to 29/12/2023. I had been there thrice and 1st when with my 5yrs old son with hubby and 2nd with my two son with hubby and thrice the families when back again during my eldest son national service board leaves. It was a memorial trip with old memories refreshing again. Great trip I had in Malaysia Malacca 👍
Andalus kitchen
#deliciousfood
Andalus kutchen considered a hidden gems shop serves Arabian food in Malacca. We found this shop near the Malacca river at Jonker walk. There are a few shop along the streets and they started their business at 6:00pm in the evening until midnight.
The food Arabian Mandy rice and kabsa lamb or chicken taste delicious. They also have pizzas and other italian menu.

The curious baker at Jonker walk
Address - 20, jalan jawa, malacca city
Ambiance/Facilities - crowded, narrow space and dangerous stairs to climb up and down.
Highlights - pastry and drinks
Avg. Price per Person - 28
Rating - 4.5
I love their tea drink as they made it with fresh fruit and taste wonderful unlike the other instant bland tea. Perfect to have dessert while chit chat with friends or family. It located in a narrow road and u can access it from the yellow bridge opposite ikan bakar if not mistaken. Besides the cafe also sells donut and cannot walk in just order through window. 3 for rm12 very affordable
exploring the Melaka
might not be the best travel but it’s such an awesome experience and nice place to visit exploring jongker st and Portuguese square. we might have a short period of time but it’s worth it trip.#MyTripVlog #awesomepic #urbanexplorer #CelebrateWithTrip#2023TravelWish #bucketlistreboot

Long but efficient queue management.
The fat young dude (i am presuming he is the son of the boss) is super rude. Other than that, good food and efficient bosses.
Chendol is very nice.
Durian chendol is even nicer.
Skip the ice kacang.
Assam laksa is a must order
Fish cake fried set is meh but goes well with the assam laksa.
Went back twice during our trip just for the assam laksa.#jonker88
