Because the distance from the city center to Jiaozhou Airport is too far, I didn't want to travel far, so I chose to stay at the Marriott Hotel in Jiaozhou City on the last day. Occasionally there will be noise from the construction site and the road outside, but it is within acceptable limits and does not affect rest. 🏘️Room type/layout: I stayed in a lake-view suite. The room view is superb, and you can see the entire Shahai and Ciyun Temple. The decoration is in the classic Marriott style, simple and elegant. The hotel opened in January this year, and the hardware facilities are very new. Although some facilities are not yet in use, the room can still see the construction site, but these minor flaws do not affect the overall experience. 🛌Amenities/facilities: The amenities are complete, and the herbal fragrance of the shower gel is particularly pleasant. The gym and swimming pool are on the 2nd floor, and the equipment is all from Matrix, which is very new. Later, I asked the front desk who was resting inside to come out, which is the only thing I was not satisfied with. The hotel is adjacent to the Shahai Wetland Park, which is relatively niche. In the morning, you can see people rowing boats in the lake, which is very suitable for families to drive here to relax on weekends. We stayed at the Marriott Hotel Jiaozhou in December. It's perfect for families like ours who just want to relax. Before our stay, we requested a room upgrade on the app, and they generously upgraded us to a suite. As soon as we arrived, a bellboy opened the door and took our luggage. The same thing happened every time we went out to get a taxi. The service was excellent. At first, because our child is quite tall, the hotel said we could exchange the welcome gift for breakfast, but when we checked in, they generously gave us breakfast and said it was because it was our first time staying there. I chose 1,000 points as the welcome gift. The lobby had a strong smell of paint, but the room didn't have any smell. The curtains were very good at blocking out light, so we all woke up late the next day. We had afternoon tea for two days, but I didn't take any photos of happy hour or breakfast. Overall, breakfast was better than happy hour, which was better than afternoon tea. There was a wide variety of breakfast options. The chefs worked very hard. There were noodles and wontons, freshly made potstickers and yangzi cakes, and Western breakfast options like waffles and croissants. However, the breakfast coffee machine wasn't as good as the one in the lounge. The afternoon tea desserts were obviously refrigerated, not freshly made. There were only two desserts (a daifuku and a small cake) and four types of fruit. I didn't take any photos of the drinks. There were four hot dishes at happy hour, but don't expect too much. They're fine as a light meal. The cocktails were quite good. The girls in the lounge were always smiling, as were the handsome guys at the front desk. The gym and pool were very clean. There were towels and bottled water next to every piece of equipment in the gym. I rode a bike for a while, and the staff immediately replaced my water bottle when I finished it. The thing that impressed me most about this hotel was the attentive service. Now for the downsides. It is a bit remote, but that was fine for us as we just wanted to go for a walk around Shaohai. The biggest downside for me was the construction site, which started work very early. If you're a light sleeper, you should consider this. Overall, this Marriott is great value for money. I'll consider coming here again for a short break.

Ciyun Temple, formerly known as Beisi Temple, is located in the Dagu River Provincial Ecotourism Resort in Jiaozhou City, Qingdao. It is situated in the Shaohai South Lake of the National Wetland Park. The temple was first built in the first year of Tang Tianshun (890 AD) and is one of the four major Buddhist temples in Jiaozhou, as well as one of the most magnificent and solemn temples of the Tang Dynasty. Ciyun Temple faces south and is symmetrically aligned along a central axis. It adopts a courtyard layout and consists of buildings such as the Mahavira Hall, Heavenly King Hall, Sutra Library, Bell and Drum Tower, Guanyin Hall, Dizang Hall, Puxian Hall, and Wenshu Hall. In March 2009, the Jiaozhou Municipal Government began the restoration and reconstruction of Ciyun Temple on its original site. The reconstruction was completed and opened to the public in May 2012. In August 2013, Buddhist Master Liaoshan led a monastic community to reside in Ciyun Temple. The "Morning Bell of Ciyun" was one of the eight scenic spots of Jiaozhou during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, and the "Ciyun" mentioned refers to Ciyun Temple. Ciyun Coffee is located beside the Drum Tower of Ciyun Temple. In addition to coffee and Western-style desserts, it also offers Chinese pastries and creative ice cream. The room wasn’t really big but it happened to be a neat and clean hotel. The hotel got us everything we need including hangers, boiler, cups, shampoo, body wash etc. The amenities weren’t something from a luxury brand but it was good enough for a night. As the hotel is located inside the terminal, you don’t need to take a shuttle bus or any transport. The check-in area of the airport is located within walking distance. The breakfast was located at Plaza Premium Lounge so it was great. Although there wasn’t many facilities at the hotel such as a pool or a gym, those provided were already enough for a night. The hotel provides garden view room but the garden wasn’t that appealing and looked really artificial. I would recommend going for a cheaper option. The hotel I stayed at on my first visit to Qingdao, China, was the Barony Park Hotel Qingdao International Airport. With a short trip and a late arrival, I made a conscious decision after much deliberation, but it was an excellent choice. Traveling to the city's tourist attractions late at night would have been difficult for the next day's schedule. The hotel offers several advantages, including being within walking distance of the airport arrivals hall and well-marked, making it easy to navigate even in an unfamiliar airport. The price is also much more affordable than in the city's tourist attractions. Breakfast was also very satisfying. While the lobby is a bit small compared to the rooms, the staff is friendly and quick, so there wasn't much waiting time compared to the number of people waiting. The hotel building is connected to Qingdao International Airport, making it feel like a relaxing airport retreat.
