Because the distance from the city center to Jiaozhou Airport is too far, I didn't want to travel far, so I chose to stay at the Marriott Hotel in Jiaozhou City on the last day. We stayed at the Marriott Hotel Jiaozhou in December. It's perfect for families like ours who just want to relax. Before our stay, we requested a room upgrade on the app, and they generously upgraded us to a suite. As soon as we arrived, a bellboy opened the door and took our luggage. The same thing happened every time we went out to get a taxi. The service was excellent. At first, because our child is quite tall, the hotel said we could exchange the welcome gift for breakfast, but when we checked in, they generously gave us breakfast and said it was because it was our first time staying there. I chose 1,000 points as the welcome gift. The lobby had a strong smell of paint, but the room didn't have any smell. The curtains were very good at blocking out light, so we all woke up late the next day. We had afternoon tea for two days, but I didn't take any photos of happy hour or breakfast. Overall, breakfast was better than happy hour, which was better than afternoon tea. There was a wide variety of breakfast options. The chefs worked very hard. There were noodles and wontons, freshly made potstickers and yangzi cakes, and Western breakfast options like waffles and croissants. They're fine as a light meal. The cocktails were quite good. The girls in the lounge were always smiling, as were the handsome guys at the front desk. The gym and pool were very clean. There were towels and bottled water next to every piece of equipment in the gym. I rode a bike for a while, and the staff immediately replaced my water bottle when I finished it. The thing that impressed me most about this hotel was the attentive service. Now for the downsides. It is a bit remote, but that was fine for us as we just wanted to go for a walk around Shaohai. The biggest downside for me was the construction site, which started work very early. If you're a light sleeper, you should consider this. Overall, this Marriott is great value for money. I'll consider coming here again for a short break.

The room wasn’t really big but it happened to be a neat and clean hotel. The hotel got us everything we need including hangers, boiler, cups, shampoo, body wash etc. The amenities weren’t something from a luxury brand but it was good enough for a night. As the hotel is located inside the terminal, you don’t need to take a shuttle bus or any transport. The check-in area of the airport is located within walking distance. The breakfast was located at Plaza Premium Lounge so it was great. Although there wasn’t many facilities at the hotel such as a pool or a gym, those provided were already enough for a night. The hotel provides garden view room but the garden wasn’t that appealing and looked really artificial. I would recommend going for a cheaper option. The in-flight meal was steamed meat buns and drinks, and there was no entertainment. Reclining is possible. There were also daytime flights, so it was fun to look outside. The terrain of the flight route was interesting, so I recommend sitting by the window if possible. The flight was almost on time and went by in a flash. Here is what the airport looked like when I returned to Kansai International Airport from Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport. Near the boarding gate I used, there was a free rest area, so anyone could relax without going into the lounge. Nearby, there was a souvenir shop where you can get souvenirs that are typical of China, a tea specialty store, and a 7-Eleven, so it was very helpful to be able to buy snacks and drinks cheaply just before boarding! This is the airport meal I had when I went to Qingdao, China 🍜 Because it is before security check, anyone can use it. I wondered at first if it would be delicious ramen to eat abroad if I was used to eating delicious ramen in Japan, but the ramen here was so tasty that I would definitely go there if it was nearby. It was good that they also had izakaya menu items such as takowasa and Chinese wakame. The menu was also written in Japanese.
