Kerinci Mountain
The highest mountain on the island of Sumatra and the highest volcano in Indonesia outside of Papua. Mount Kerinci is located in Jambi Province and adjacent to West Sumatra Province. The mountain is surrounded by the Kerinci Seblat National Park and is a natural habitat for the Sumatran tiger and Sumatran rhino. The peak of Mount Kerinci is at an altitude of 3,805 meters above sea level, where visitors can see amazing views of the cities of Jambi, Padang and Bengkulu and even the Indian Ocean can be seen clearly. Mount Kerinci has a crater with an area of 400 x 120 meters and is filled with green water. In the east you can find Lake Bento, the highest swamp with clear water in Sumatra. Behind him, there is Mount Tujuh which has a very beautiful crater and is almost untouched. The vegetation that dominates here are various types of mahogany trees, Rafflesia arnoldi flowers, giant suweg Amorphophallus Titanum. For fauna, Mount Kerinci is home to elephants, rhinos, tigers, sun bears and Sumatran leopards. There are also 140 species of birds. This mountain can be reached by land from Jambi to SungaiFull via Bangko. Can also be reached from Padang Lubuk Linggau and Bengkulu. If you use a plane, you have to land in Padang or Jambi.
