A SATISFYING HIKE FROM LAKE LOUISE TO LAKE AGNES
#hikingtrails
The hike from Lake Louise to Lake Agnes is a 7 kilometer round trip, with an elevation gain of about 400 meters.
Would consider it as a moderately challenging route, 2 hour each way.
Along the hike, fellow hikers would offer encouraging words, saying things like, you are almost there, keep going !
Starting near the shoreline of Lake Louise, the trail ascends through dense forest, and halfway, you'll reach Mirror Lake, Bow Lake where many hikers would stop for a quick rest.
The trail then continues uphill, with several switchbacks with glimpses of the surrounding stunning peaks.
At the top, where the historic Lake Agnes Tea House was located, you can enjoy light refreshments while taking in the scenic mountain views.
Would suggest starting the hike early morning 7ish or 8ish, so by the time you reach the tea house, the crowd has not arrived yet.

Canada Self-Drive Travel | Banff National Park Day 1, come copy the travel guide
This first stop of my Canadian trip is the long-awaited Banff National Park🌳
Departing from Calgary, Alberta, driving along Highway 1 towards the mountains, the Rocky Mountains covered in pure white snow, the clear turquoise glacial lakes, every frame of the scenery is stunning✨
Moreover, some mountain tops have snow that never melts all year round🏔️, with over 300 days of clear weather🌞, beauty in all four seasons. Having experienced summer, I'm already looking forward to coming back in autumn hhhh🍁
【Day 1】
Calgary→Sulphur Mountain Banff Gondola→Bow Falls→Johnston Canyon
📍Sulphur Mountain Banff Gondola
Taking the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain at 2450 meters🚡, I couldn't help but exclaim wow‼️ The surrounding Rocky Mountains covered in pure white snow, looking down at the forests and lakes from the rooftop platform, and walking back along the wooden walkway, it's super impressive‼️
📍Bow Falls
Bow Falls is about 10 meters high and was the filming location for the Marilyn Monroe-starring movie 'River of No Return'🎬, the river water➕snow mountains➕orange rafts make for especially good photos📸
📍Surprise Corner
This spot🉑 offers a distant view of the Banff Springs Hotel & Bow River scenery built against the mountain, suitable for a quick visit on the way.
📍Johnston Canyon
One of the four major canyons in the Canadian Rockies, formed by thousands of years of river erosion, with rapid streams and lush vegetation, moss everywhere😉 A light hike is particularly comfortable〰️🚶🏻♀️Lower Falls even has an interesting 'water curtain cave'💦
💡Tips
✔️There's a big temperature difference between morning and evening, and the weather is changeable, it's not an exaggeration to say there are four seasons in a day, be prepared with both T-shirts and down jackets
✔️The high altitude means strong UV rays, be sure to protect yourself from the sun
✔️Wear comfortable shoes and pay attention to safety when hiking and mountain climbing

Conquering the Big Bee Hive 🐝
Climbing the Big Beehive in Banff National Park was a journey of awe-inspiring vistas and personal triumph.
The trail winded through dense forests, before finally opening up at the last hurdle where we were faced with a huge switchback. Trudging up slowly, step by step, my anticipation grew.
Finally reaching the summit, I was greeted by a breathtaking panorama of Lake Louise and the famous Fairmont Château Lake Louise, nestled among towering mountains. The sense of accomplishment was overwhelming as I took in the beauty of the landscape stretching out before me.
Sitting atop Big Beehive, I felt a profound connection to nature and a deep appreciation for the splendor of Banff National Park. It's a hike that challenges both body and mind but rewards with unmatched natural beauty.

Serene Alpine Bliss 🏞️
Nestled in the heart of Banff National Park, Lake Agnes is a breathtaking gem that rewards hikers with stunning alpine views. The trail, though moderately challenging, is well worth the effort for the serene beauty that awaits at the top.
Ascending through dense forests and along cascading streams, I bumped into a group on horsebacks descending the trail. What fun it must be to go horse riding here!
The anticipation continued to build until I finally reached the pristine turquoise waters of Lake Agnes. Surrounded by towering peaks, the lake
truly showcased the natural splendor of the Canadian Rockies.
While I wished I could enjoy a cup of hot tea and some scones at the charming Lake Agnes Tea House, it was already closed for the season by the time we visited in October. What a pity 😞

What first struck me was the enchanting turquoise color of the lake enhanced by the morning sun. The early hours' tranquility created a serene atmosphere, making it the perfect time to experience the beauty of the lake.
As the day progressed, the changing hues of the lake under the bright sunlight were a sight to behold. The turquoise waters surrounded by mountains and forests created an almost surreal, picturesque landscape. The morning's calm gave way to the gentle sounds of nature, adding to the overall charm of the place.
Beyond the breathtaking lake, Lake Louise offers a variety of activities such as hiking, canoeing, and exploring the nearby Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, a splendid hotel that complements the natural beauty of the area. The hiking trails around the lake are perfect for nature lovers and provide opportunities to immerse oneself in the captivating scenery.

This vacation here is too Chill!
Banff National Park Forest Resort Hotel in Canada, the hotel design is completely integrated into the surrounding environment, you can see the snow-capped mountains, forests and beautiful natural landscapes. Banff Park is located in the northern part of the Rocky Mountains, after railway workers accidentally discovered a hot spring here
In 1885, Banff became Canada's first national park, and now it has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are many types of plants and animals in the park, many of which are endangered species.

Insane Views at Sulphur Mountain, Alberta
To summit Sulphur Mountain, you can either hike up or take a gondola.
The hike up is 5.5km (return trip will be 11km) and is a continuous uphill climb with many switchbacks. The gondola is not gonna be cheap. Regardless of whichever option you choose, the views at the summit is well worth it!
There’s also a small cafe (take-away only), a couple of nice restaurants and an exhibit to check out. Please also set aside time to stroll along the easy boardwalk to the weather observatory and cosmic ray station historic site.

Driving in the Canadian Rockies! 🏔️
Driving in Banff is a beautiful experience with picturesque mountain views around every turn!
The park has designated pull-off areas, so drivers can stop and take in the breathtaking scenery without disrupting traffic. The mountains surrounding you, just simply amazing.
However, it's important to exercise caution and obey the speed limits as wildlife frequently cross the road. Road conditions can also change quickly, especially during winter, so it's best to check the weather forecast and road reports before setting off. It's also advisable to fill up the gas tank before heading out on a long drive as gas stations can be few and far between in the park. #banff

Sulphur Mountain Trail
#gohiking
Sulphur Mountain is an icon of Banff despite the fact it is not the most scenic mountain in Banff. A hike to the top of Sulphur Mountain is ideal for anyone wanting to take in the fine mountain air and alpine views.
The trail is 10.9-km out-and-back, generally considered a challenging route and it takes an average of 4 h 33 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, snowshoeing, and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are June through October.

The Eden Restaurant at the Rimrock Hotel in Banff is one of only 3 Five Diamond restaurants in Canada and offers an absolutely incredible, once in a lifetime dining experience.
From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like royalty, and aside from the delicious courses, you’re treated to unique breads and butters, amuse bouches, and even a “party favour” at the end.
But you really have to try the food. It’s undoubtedly the finest dining experience in a Banff.

Moraine Lake is arguably one of the most beautiful places in the world. Blue-green water that looks like it couldn’t be real and snow capped peaks.
The Moraine Lake area also has several amazing hikes that all begin at its shores. Consolation Lakes, Mount Temple and Larch Valley are just a few of the options available. Don’t forget you can also canoe here as well!

Vermillion Lakes are three lakes lying just on the outskirts of Banff. They’re easily Banff’s best sunrise spot, and in the summer they’re also a very popular place to Canmore or Kayak.
Each lake has a pontoon where people enjoy taking photos or just enjoying a moment of calm. It’s also easy to reach Vermillion lakes by foot Banff, and is a lovely destination if you’re looking to stretch your legs #sunrise #canada #reflection

Johnston Canyon is one of the most popular attractions in Banff National Park. Its a stunning walk through a river canyon that passes 7 waterfalls! You can do this all year round, although winter gets extremely slippery. Johnston Canyon is also famous for it’s ice climbing and the secret cave (closed in summer due to nesting Swifts). The whole area is definitely worth a visit!

A beautiful snowy sunrise at Two Jack Lake in Banff National Park. Two Jack is a fantastic place to come for a picnic, watch the sunset and sometimes you can even skate on it! It’s also one of Banff’s most popular campgrounds if you’re looking to sleep under the stars and are looking for a great location!

By far, the prettiest lake I've been to is Moraine Lake out in Banff. Because the lakes in Banff are such a tourist attraction, you truly need to time your visits so that you arrive around sunrise when the crowds are at a minimum and parking is available.
One of the activities that people enjoy doing while in Banff is kayaking on the lakes. The cost is around $100 for about an hour of kayaking on a beautiful blue glacial lake!
Banff is quite expensive to stay in. You can also look at nearby Canmore as a place to stay to save some money!

Have you ever seen water this blue? Moraine Lake is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful spots on Earth. What makes the lake this color? Silt, which comes from the glaciers! It's essentially "rock flour" that catches sunlight and makes the water appear brilliantly blue. Travel tip: This lake is only open for 5 months in the summer!

Beautiful Blues in Banff National Park. Is Canada on your bucketlist yet? Lake Morraine is a must-see!

Moraine Lake is very easy to get to. Seeing the lake doesn't require any hiking unless you want to get to a higher vantage point. Then there are several logs to cross and big rock pile to climb up.

Banff National Park, Alberta
#firstsnow
Banff National Park is famous for its rugged mountain landscapes and becomes a snowy wonderland with the first snow. Early winter brings opportunities for skiing, snowshoeing, and scenic drives along the Icefields Parkway, where mountains and glaciers create an unforgettable sight. Lake Louise, within the park, often freezes early, turning into a scenic ice-skating rink with surrounding mountain peaks. As the snow falls, Banff transforms, and events like the SnowDays Festival bring ice sculptures and outdoor games, making it ideal for embracing winter from November through March.
