[Okinawa] Iheya Island: You've never seen such blue before
I've been to many places around the world, but I've never seen such a crystal clear blue sea! Iheya Island in Okinawa is a place where you can see such a spectacular view🏝️
It is located 80 minutes by ferry from Unten Port in northern Okinawa.
The sea, which is said to be Iheya Blue, is really perfect for snorkeling and diving.
You can get around the island by rental bicycle or community bus, so you don't need to rent a car🙆♂️
There are private lodgings and guest houses on the island, and one of its features is that it is easy to interact with the islanders. You can enjoy warm hospitality and island cuisine!

[Okinawa] If you're staying on Iheya Island, this is the place to stay! A guesthouse with great reviews for its delicious meals
Iheya Island is the northernmost remote island of Okinawa.
It can be reached by ferry from Unten Port in the northern part of Okinawa's main island in about 80 minutes.
There are two ferries a day, but it is difficult to make a day trip, so you will need to stay overnight.
This time, we will introduce you to a place to stay when you visit Iheya Island.
[Hotel Nishie] is located about a 10-minute walk from Iheya Terminal.
It is a homely hotel with a guesthouse feel.
It was a convenient place to stay, with a beach right in front of it and a supermarket next door.
The rooms were renovated in 2019, so the rooms were clean and comfortable to relax in.
We stayed in a twin Western-style room with a bathroom and toilet, but there seemed to be several room types, so please choose one that suits your needs.
And if you stay at Nishie, you should definitely add breakfast and dinner.
The dinner was so luxurious that you would never think it was a guesthouse meal.
We were able to enjoy island meals made with seasonal organic vegetables and freshly caught fish.
Breakfast is served in a buffet style, but I was impressed by how delicious the food was, freshly made without cutting corners.
It was great that I could have seconds of this delicious food!
Despite being a guesthouse on a remote island, you can enjoy delicious food.
If you visit Iheya Island, I highly recommend staying here.

Iheya Island recommended spots
Iheya Island is an hour and 20 minute ferry ride away from the northern part of Okinawa's main island.
It's famous for its beautiful sea, but there are also several tourist spots.
One of the recommended spots is Noho Bridge.
Just beyond the bridge is sand, and at low tide the white sand appears and a small island appears. The view is amazing!
Also, just before the bridge is a coral reef area.
If you go quite far from the beach, the coral reef is plentiful.
You can enjoy the view or swim.
If you visit Iheya Island, please go there.

How to get from Okinawa main island to Iheya Island
Iheya Island is located about an hour north by ferry from the northern part of Okinawa's main island.
This time, we will explain how to get there.
First, you need to go to Unten Port, which is about two hours from Naha.
There is a bus, but it takes a very long time, so if you have a car, we recommend going by car.
You cannot reserve the ferry, so when you arrive at the port, first buy a ticket and then board.
There are various places to sit, such as seats, seats where you can lie down, and seats like a half terrace, so find a place you like.
There are also outlets in the places where you can lie down.
It is also a point to pass the Kouri Bridge on the way.
On the ship, you can only buy drinks, so if you need anything, don't forget to buy it at the port.

Iheya Island recommended spots
Iheya Island is located about an hour by boat from the northern part of Okinawa's main island.
There are many diving spots with lively corals, but the area around Noho Bridge is also recommended.
At low tide, just across the bridge from the port, there is a white sand spot that appears only at low tide, and the beauty of that spot is incredible!
Also, if you swim around the bridge, you will go quite far from the beach, but there is a spot where the corals are plentiful.
If you get too close to the bridge, there are places where the current is fast, so please swim with caution.

[Okinawa] Recommended lunches on Iheya Island
Iheya Island, a remote island in Okinawa.
There are a few restaurants, but because there are so few, it's hard to decide where to go.
If you want to eat Okinawa soba, please visit this Kura.
If you go for lunch, I recommend going early the next day, as I went late one time and they ran out of noodles and closed early.
There are only three types of lunch menu.
Okinawa soba is 800 yen.
By the way, payment is only by cash.
The taste was mild and delicious, but the Iheya Island Terushii no Ichimi on the table was very spicy, so I would definitely recommend it to those who like spicy food.
