Double moon bay

We drove from Shenzhen to Shuangyuebay in about two hours and stayed for one night. The weather was not on our side with a lot of wind and rain in the air. The area is called double moon bay if translated into English because of the shape of the area with sea on both sides that you can see from above. Beautiful sandy beaches. We started by going up to the peak to see the overview of the bay and it was super cool. It is a bit of a walk from the parking area so we paid 40 for a guy to take us up and down on his moped. The view from the top was Fantastic and an absolute must see if you are in the area. After the peak we went to the turtle bay nature reserve. They have a beautiful sea walk and lots of big turtles. After turtle bay we went to the beach and visited one of the surfer places. Not much activity but there was someone learning how to kite. The beach was absolutely awesome and I can imagine the place is super nice in the summer month. I definitely want to come back. Located next to the famous West Lake Scenic Area in Huizhou, the Sizhou Tower is an historical structure that stands out amongst the surrounding hills. To get here, you can take a private car, taxi or bus and get off at the north or west entrance to the lake. At the lake, walk through the entrance and proceed towards the southeastern corner of the park to find the Sizhou Tower. The tower itself is on top of a hill, therefore expect to walk up stairs to reach the base. There are several staircases you can climb to reach up to the tower, all are pleasant and shaded under the trees. The tower is great to see close-up, as you will see the many materials used in its construction and the impressive height it reaches. Walking around it, you can take photos or videos. It is a welcome place to visit when you are also visiting the lake area, and I would highly recommend it. Camping on Sanmen Island

Sanmen island, with an area of about 5 square kilometers and a coastline of 13 kilometers, is the largest island in Daya Bay of Huizhou. The sea water here is clear, with visibility of 5-8 meters, which is very suitable for swimming and snorkeling. Getting there - We went with a group of people. Took a bus and then a speed boat to the island. Attractions - Hiking trails, beach ,camping ,abandoned hotels and apartments. Hotels - Only abandoned hotels on the island. We camped out in our tents and made friends with the locals to use their facilities. Food & Restaurants - Local restaurants available on the island for limited food or you can bring your own meat and bbq. Ask locals to store things for you. Shopping - You need to come prepared. Bring everything you need. Not many shops , only for cold drinks , snacks and food.

Swimming in BAIMA RIVER

Getting There - On your way to Huizhou, you can stop over near BAIMA river and hike your way to the different pools. The further you hike the better the pools. We went passed 3 pools to get to this waterfall and boy was it worth it! Attractions - Hiking, natural pools and waterfalls to give you great back massages. Hotels - There aren’t any hotels near here but you can stay in Huizhou which is close enough. Food & Restaurants - there’s one Hakka restaurant on the way to the pools and they serve some decent food. Shopping - There’s a shop where you can stop to get some beers or sodas for your hike to the waterfall

This is a hike through some of the most beautiful and historical part of the Huizhou peninsula. The picturesque Huizhou peninsula feature natural elements and marine life. Join the locals in fishing, or listen to the anecdotes told by old fishermen. Double Moon bay gets its name from the double moon shaped bays. You can have a birds-eye view of the Huizhou peninsula on top of the mountain. This trail is mostly paved road. It is very safe and you are within a few hundred meters from the main road. To get to guiding, the nearest train station is huizhou which is very accessible from most major cities. once in huizhou, one can get a bus or didi to guiding.

📍 It’s a great place to spend your holidays. We usually take a taxi from Guangzhou to the beach directly it takes around 2.5 hours. But you can also take a train or plain depends on your location. The beach is quiet far from the city. 🏨 There are many good and cheap hotels or apartments around the beach. 🥗 You can find some western restaurants and many Chinese. Amazing view on Double Moon Bay

We went there by rent-a-car, from parking you can decide either to walk for 30-45mins or use ebike drivers. Walking is nicer, enjoying nature but remember to bring water. There's lady on top with cold drinks, so you can buy for extra fee. On the way are some abandoned houses, lots of greenery, road goes up and down...so I could say it's interesting climb. Once you got there, amazing view on whole area and you can enjoy cold drink. You can actually see how right side is more for surfing if you're into it. Whole experience took roughly hour and half. Nearby parking is also Turtle museum, but we skipped it.

Location - Xunliao Bay, Huidong, Huizhou Guangdong, China PC:516367 Getting There - Can reach Huizhou by train(Huizhou Railway and Huizhou South Railway) and then grab a Didi direct to Xunliao bay, approximately 40mins journey. Attractions - Beautiful and clean beach for a short pleasurable weekend getaway, this is definitely the place. Hotels are plenty to be found along the beach such as Sheraton, Sea Prince Resort and Le Meridien Xiaojing Bay Hotel. There are water games available for funseekers and of course sunrise and sunset shots shall not be missed for photographers😉. Double Moon Bay - Vanke, Pinghai Town - Zhang Sheng's Homestay. This was my first time to Double Moon Bay and I'm quite surprised how nice it was, the beach, the blue water of the ocean and of course the villa itself. The Villa can fit up to 18 people - 2 floors, 7 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, large living room, kitchen, big dining table, 2 balconies, pool and parking space. •Getting There - It takes 2 hours from Shenzhen. The Double Moon Bay Scenic Area is surrounded by the sea on three sides, from Daya Bay. •Attractions - pool, beach, Sea parachute, beach bike, beach racket, luxury yachts etc. •Food & Restaurants - There are a few restaurants not far from the villa, but what can be better then BBQ that you can make outside. •Shopping - a few stores available next to the villa. #china #huizhou #doublemoonbay #seaside #villa #beachlife #ThisIsChina

I went on a day trip to Double Moon Bay to soak up some Sunrays and get some content! This side of Huizhou is so calm and quiet, it’s the perfect peaceful getaway! Getting There - From Shenzhen it is a 2 hour drive, taking the high speed train is only 36 minutes. Attractions - Double Moon Bay has beautiful beach areas and so many instagrammable spots, some of which I have photographed above. I found these locations by simply driving around to random places and also by searching on Dianping. Hotels - Many hotels and apartment hotels along the beach. There are still more being built! Food & Restaurants - Restaurants are all around the little town, there are seafood and Chinese restaurants going down the main road and in the apartment hotel community you can find a few convenient stores. We went by car to get here from Baiyun. There are many air bnb you can stay that ranges from 300 to 500. The beach is clean and always a good feeling to catch the sunset. There are also many fast food chains and seafood restaurants around the city. #quickgetaway #huizhougem
