Japan's first zoo without fences
The most distinctive feature of Tama Zoological Park is its free-range display method, which is the first of its kind in Japan. Generally, the exhibition areas in zoos are surrounded by fences, but in this zoo, trenches are used instead of fences to separate the animals from the visitors. The animals are kept free in a spacious space so that visitors can watch the cute animals up close.
Tama Zoological Park is located in the mountains surrounded by greenery. The zoo breeds and displays more than 350 rare animals, including long-tailed, furry snow leopards, lions, orangutans, koalas, cheetahs, etc. One of the charms of this zoo

Marronnier Takahatafudo Store
2 minutes walk from Takahatafudo Station on the Keio Line and Takahatafudo Station on the Tama Toshi Monorail Line.
It is a transfer station for students commuting to the Tama area and is a town with many visitors to Takahatafudo.
There was a nice eat-in corner, so I bought a Takahata Roll and had a coffee.
The eat-in corner was clean and quiet. The coffee was also very good.
The Takahata Roll was very delicious.

Dotour Coffee at Takahatafudo Station
It's very close to the station ticket gate.
I got a takeaway iced coffee while waiting for the train.
It's a station that's often used by university students, so there were a lot of students there.
If you go out of the ticket gate and turn right at the corner of the bakery, you'll find Doutor, but be careful because it's hard to find if you walk straight along with the flow of people😊

Delicious souvenirs at Takahatafudo Temple grounds
Kaiun Soba Takahatafudo Temple Precinct Shop
733 Takahata, Hino City, Tokyo
Open from 9am to 5pm
After visiting Takahatafudo Temple, I bought souvenirs at the Kaiun Soba Temple Precinct Shop at the entrance. It's in a very conspicuous place, so there may be no one who doesn't see it. There were three types of fried rice crackers to sample, so I tried them all. One bag is 550 yen. Two bags are 1,000 yen. I bought two bags of green onion miso rice crackers. The male clerk was very kind and I had a very enjoyable shopping experience. They also sold mulberry tea, which is said to be good for your health.

The lighting at night was so beautiful.
Takahatafudo Kongo-ji Temple
The nearest station is Takahatafudo, about a 3-minute walk
I went to see Takahatafudo Kongo-ji Temple for the first time after learning that it was lit up around 6pm!
The impressive lighting soothed my heart!
The surroundings were also very quiet and dignified, and I felt happy!
However, at night it was very dark and there were not many lights, so it was a little scary.
Even so, it was a bit of a mountain? It was dark and I couldn't see very well, but when I climbed it, the lighting looked beautiful with a different view!
Please visit Takahatafudo Kongo-ji Temple at night. ^^

~Takahatafudo~ One of the three great Fudoson temples in the Kanto region and the family temple of Toshizo Hijikata
Takahatafudo is about 30 minutes by train from Shinjuku.
The approach to the temple from the station is lined with nostalgic sweet chestnut shops and Japanese set meal restaurants,
and there are also several cafes and tea shops in the surrounding area, making it a great spot for eating while walking around.
Also, as it is the family temple of Hijikata Toshizo,
there is a large statue of Hijikata Toshizo at the entrance,
and many Shinsengumi-related goods are sold in the surrounding area and on the grounds.
The Hydrangea Festival is held in June, and a stroll around the grounds while viewing the flowers of the seasons is also a recommended course.

One of the three major immobilities in Kanto
#aprilblooms
Takahata Fudoson is a temple of the Shingon sect Chizan school, which is considered one of the three major Fudo in Kanto, along with Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple. About 300,000 people visit the first visit every year, and the fair on the 28th of every month is crowded with many visitors.
There is a vast site of about 4,000 tsubo in the precincts and about 30,000 tsubo, including the adjacent mountains and forests, and in addition to year-round events such as Setsubun-kai, you can also enjoy the nature of the four seasons, such as the hyageas in early summer and the autumn leaves festival in autumn.
There are about 20,000 valuable cultural properties and temple treasures, such as the giant statue "Joroku Fudo Sanzon".
Still in Time! Late-Blooming Double Cherry Blossoms
Although Tokyo's cherry blossom season is almost over, you can still enjoy the late-blooming double cherry blossoms. One recommended spot is the "Hodokubo River Promenade's Double Cherry Blossoms" in Hino City. At the confluence of the Tama River and Asakawa River, the small Hodokubo River also joins in.
Double cherry blossoms are planted along the river, creating a promenade. Since it's not very famous, there are few visitors, allowing you to walk under the cherry blossom arches at your leisure. It's a perfect spot to enjoy the beauty of spring.
Visit Date: April 12

The five-story pagoda is beautiful! Enjoy the nature of the four seasons at Takahatafudoson
It is a historical spot in Tokyo where you can spend a peaceful time, and is considered one of the three great Fudo temples in the Kanto region.
The grounds are dotted with historical buildings, including the "Fudo Hall" and "Niomon Gate," which are both important cultural properties of Japan. In particular, the "Joroku Fudo Sanzon," an imposing statue of Fudo weighing over 1,100 kg in total, is a spectacular sight.
The area is also rich in nature, and in early summer, the "Hydrangea Festival" is held, where about 250 types and 7,800 hydrangeas bloom in full glory.

Tama Zoo Day + Night Magic
#TokyoItinerary
Even the Tokyo moms group is going crazy about this hidden experience 😂!
We entered the park on Saturday afternoon. After seeing many animals, we participated in the limited "Moonlight Exploration" at night. We put on special night vision goggles and found that the animals that slept during the day were having a party under the moonlight: fennec foxes chasing glowing fluorite in the sand dunes, and Malayan tapirs dancing waltz in the pool. The coolest thing is the "luminous laboratory" in the insect museum. Children use ultraviolet pens to make hidden patterns appear on butterfly wings. My 5-year-old daughter said excitedly: "I'm helping the princess butterfly to break the magic spell!" Remember to book a camping plan that includes BBQ. It is particularly exciting to grill under the stars while listening to the roar of lions.
The autumn leaf festival at Keio Hyakusou Garden, a famous spot for viewing autumn leaves in Tokyo, is here.
📝Activity TIPS:
Keio Hyakuboen is a famous garden that has been passed down since the Edo period.

Sawada Park: An oasis in the city 🌿🏙️

Shimoda Park is an oasis hidden in the hustle and bustle of the city. The natural environment here makes people feel extremely relaxed, as if it is a "hidden treasure" of the city. When you walk into the park, you will be surrounded by trees and flowers, and instantly feel away from the busy life. 🌸✨
The park has winding trails that are perfect for walking, jogging or cycling. careful! Along the way you may come across a group of picnickers enjoying the sunshine, and you might accidentally be invited to join their “food party”! 🍉🥳
Tama Zoo - A place for families to play
#Tokyo Attractions
The animals at Tama Zoological Park seem to be very active, enjoying their freedom in their respective habitats. I first came to the lion area, and saw a majestic lion lying lazily in the pavilion basking in the sun. 🦁 It looks up and yawns from time to time, as if expressing its laziness and leisure.
Then we came to the giraffe habitat. 🦒 The giraffes here are nibbling on the leaves. Their tall and straight appearance looks particularly elegant in the sun. In order to allow tourists to observe from a closer distance, some elevated passages have been specially set up. I stood on them and looked down, feeling the surprise of being so close to these animals.
As I continued to explore, I suddenly saw a small forest with many cute monkeys playing and frolicking. 🐒 I couldn't help but stop and admire them. Some of them were rolling over and over, and some were chasing each other, full of energy. Looking at these nimble little creatures, I couldn't help but smile.
"Tama Zoological Park - A great place for a family outing!"
#Zoo
Tama Zoological Park is a great place full of natural vitality and suitable for a family outing. Here you can see beautiful peacocks 🦚, they are colorful and amazing when they spread their wings and fly.
Elephants 🐘 are one of the stars here. They are huge in size and gentle in character, making people want to get close to watch them. Zebras attract visitors with their unique stripes and are a must-see attraction in the zoo.
The giraffe 🦒 looks very cute and delightful when eating leaves with its slender neck. Capybaras are the largest rodents in the park. They are friendly and often gather together, attracting people to stop and watch.
White tigers 🐅Their white fur and black eyes are unforgettable. Tama Zoological Park is not only a great place to see animals, it also provides a wealth of learning opportunities, allowing you and your family to enjoy an unforgettable time together!

~Dainichido Hall is especially recommended~
Takahatafudo Temple is a must-visit spot when sightseeing in Tokyo.
It's relatively easy to get to from the city center, so please do go.
The inside of Takahatafudo Temple is surprisingly spacious.
The main hall is also very eye-catching, but I think the most eye-catching is the five-story pagoda. It's tall and painted vermilion, so it's cool.
If it's not too hot, I recommend looking around the entire site.
The Dainichido Hall (Roaring Dragon🐉), located at the very back of the site, requires an admission fee, but it's a famous place where you can clap your hands in front of the main hall and hear the sound of a dragon roaring, so I would especially recommend it.

🐨Tama Zoological Park🦝Super large zoo, close interaction with animals
🦧 A zoo worth half a day near Tokyo, it is recommended to enter the park early, the place is very large best to take the park bus.
🐅 The animals inside are full of energy, the fence is very low to let the animals and people very close, you can take the shuttle to the top and then slowly walk down, play all day no problem.
🦁 There is a lion bus highly recommended, you can experience it up close and feel the tension of the beast next to you.
🦏 There are also many special animals in the park, such as Malayan baboons, macaque monkeys, parrots, black bears, goats, tree bears, and kangaroos.

The Keio Mogusaen Temple
#cherryblossom2024
Our adventure in Japan was absolutely amazing, especially when we dove into the bustling city vibes and checked out the fascinating Keio Mogusaen. Spring added an extra bit of magic to the scene, and the serene views around the shrine took our breath away. The stunning sights created memories that will stick with us forever.
Originally established as a temple garden during the opulent 18th century, Mogusaen underwent a transformation into private ownership during the early Meiji era, only to be later acquired by the prestigious Keio conglomerate in the year 1957. The vast expanse of hilltop terrain provides breathtaking panoramic views overlooking Fuchu and the heart of Tokyo, while the garden itself is renowned for its impressive collection of around 500 plum trees, which bloom in a spectacular display of colors from the beginning of February until mid-March.
Mogusaen is not only a sanctuary for nature enthusiasts but also a haven for bird watchers, as it is home to a diverse array of wild birds that can be observed throughout the year. The tranquil ambiance of the garden, coupled with the harmonious melodies of the feathered inhabitants, creates an enchanting atmosphere that beckons visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of the natural world. For those seeking to embark on this enchanting journey, a convenient option is to board the Keio line bound for Takaosanguchi and alight at the picturesque Mogusaen Station.
This retreat was pure indulgence and its mesmerizing beauty left an unforgettable mark in my recollection. The immense satisfaction of revisiting and fully immersing myself in every captivating minute within this unique sanctuary is beyond compare.#familytrip

It is exciting to see these majestic predators sometimes taking a nap peacefully in the sun, and sometimes playing with each other with their claws and teeth bared, showing their fierce and ferocious side.
In such a zoo that combines animal education and experience, we are completely immersed in the primitive charm of returning to nature, which has become an unforgettable travel memory.
