~Takahatafudo~ One of the three great Fudoson temples in the Kanto region and the family temple of Toshizo Hijikata

Takahatafudo is about 30 minutes by train from Shinjuku. The approach to the temple from the station is lined with nostalgic sweet chestnut shops and Japanese set meal restaurants, and there are also several cafes and tea shops in the surrounding area, making it a great spot for eating while walking around. Also, as it is the family temple of Hijikata Toshizo, there is a large statue of Hijikata Toshizo at the entrance, and many Shinsengumi-related goods are sold in the surrounding area and on the grounds. The Hydrangea Festival is held in June, and a stroll around the grounds while viewing the flowers of the seasons is also a recommended course.
