The bird is very primitive, with only one resort and no signal (WiFi is available for sale). Here you can see baby turtles hatching from their shells, sharks and stingrays everywhere, and many seabirds walking on the beach. But in addition to the beauty of the island, what you can't find on the Internet is that it really stinks. 😂 As soon as you get on the island, you can smell the "bird smell". You have to be careful not to get hit by bird poop at any time. I was unlucky and it happened to rain heavily, and the smell was even more terrible... The smell is not so strong at the beach and the sea is very clear, but the smell is really strong inside the park. If you have the chance, you can still come on vacation to see the baby turtles 💖 It's worth it! 🚗Transportation: - Only Brisbane has flights to Gladstone - You need to take a boat from Gladstone Port to the island (2 hours) - There is only one boat per day for both the outbound and return trips - The boat is big and comfortable.

We honestly can’t recommend this place enough, I thought the photos looked too good to be true when booking it. But no, this island is exactly how it looks in photos, actually that’s a lie, it’s better! We stayed for 3 days/2 nights and it cost $477 USD total for 2 of us. This included boat transfers from mainland, private lodge, snorkel equipment and breakfasts. This island is screen free, no TVs, no phone signal and it was bliss. It was amazing to detach from the world and your phone to be completely immersed in nature. The island is small, it only took 30 minutes to walk around the beach circumference. The accommodation is a beach style lodge. You get snorkel equipment included which you keep for your stay. This was amazing, we swam with a turtle, sharks, sting rays, colourful fish and coral. The sands are white with crystal clear sea. We saw mother turtles coming onto the beach to lay their eggs. We were then so lucky to see baby turtles hatch and make their way to the ocean. Just going to this island and hoping it was as good as the photos was going to be enough but to add on seeing turtles, sharks and rays in the ocean, the nesting turtles and then on top the baby turtles hatch was completely magical. These memories will stay with us for life. Honestly if you have the chance to go to this island please do not pass it up. You will make memories that will stay with you forever.
